I Have This Thing With Roses

Neal's Yard Remedies 'Wild Rose Beauty Balm'

I Have This Thing With Roses

Bonjour my friends! It’s time to have a chat about one of my favourite florals and one of my favourite perfumery notes, Rose. I just love them! Rich, velvety, sensual, heady rose! I love it in skincare, perfumes, bath tubs… anywhere really! Except food, I’m not so into rose flavoured cakes or macaroons, but that’s a story for another day! For now, let’s just chat about my favourite rose scented bath, body, skincare and fragrance goodies!

Acqua Di Parma 'Rosa Nobile' Perfume

Acqua Di Parma ‘Rosa Nobile’ Perfume

One of my favourite ever rose-based fragrances has to be Acqua Di Parma Rosa Nobile, I have worked my way through a few bottles of this one over the years and I just love it! It’s a blend of rose, Pepper, bergamot, mandarin orange,  violet, cedarwood and musk. Somehow it balances the velvety rose with the spicy pepper, fresh fruits and feminine musk, to make a really wearable, modern, twist on rose. LOVE IT!

Roja X Fortnum & Mason Candle

Roja X Fortnum & Mason Candle

The latest release from Roja is a stunning collaboration with one of London’s most loved department stores. The Roja X Fortnum & Mason Candle is inspired by the scent of the store; 300 years of luxury, food and bath & body products, the wood which lines the walls and staircases have been lovingly polished with beeswax; the scent of rose, lavender and clove, as well as the freshness of geranium and clary sage, together they capture the essence of the store, which really is one of the most beautiful places in London. Only Roja could do Fortumn & Mason justice!

Dr Sebagh 'Rose de Vie' Cream Cleanser

Dr Sebagh ‘Rose de Vie’ Cream Cleanser

There are so many beautiful Rose de Vie products in the Dr Sebagh skincare collection, but a great place to start is the iconic Dr Sebagh Cream Cleanser. As we all know, a good cleanser is paramount and this one is crammed full of nourishing and balancing roses and leaves skin gently cleansed and feeling nourished and soothed. Perfect if you have dry skin and are prone to redness like me. If you love it, I highly recommend the Rose de Vie Serum and Hydrating Face Mask, they really are a dream team. They cost a little more than your average skin care, but if you can afford it, it’s worth it! Just try the cleanser, see how you get on and then build your Dr Sebagh routine from there!

Miller Harris 'Rose Silence' Bath Oil

Miller Harris ‘Rose Silence’ Bath Oil

Is there anything better than relaxing in a tub filled with rose bath oil? I think not! I adore Miller Harris Rose Silence Bath Oil for it’s blend of red roses, mandarin, blackcurrant and patchouli, which gives the rose a hint of fresh earthiness, it’s got a bit of an autumnal twist! Also, a lot of people are put off by bath oils as some of them tend to ‘sit’ on top of the water and not mix well with water, but this one is a blend of argan oil, moringa oil and sweet almond oil which leaves skin soft and supple which turns milky in your bath water. I’m also a big fan of the Rose Silence perfume, which is filled with the same notes and absolutely stunning!

Garnier 'Rose Water' Botanical Balm

Garnier ‘Rose Water’ Botanical Balm

The latest skincare release from Garnier is their ‘Rose Water’ Botanical Balm. These nifty little pots are multi-use, you can use a thin layer as a day cream, a marginally thicker layer as a night cream and a thicker layer again as a face mask (leave on for about 10 minutes). The scent of rose is very, very slight, but it’s a nice face cream and perfect if you like to keep your skincare minimal and hard working. It’s also super affordable at £12.99 per pot, when I got mine they were on 3 for 2 offer, so look for a deal!

Diptyque 'Eau Rose' Perfume

Diptyque ‘Eau Rose’ Perfume

Ah! Diptyque you know how to rock my world! Diptyque Eau Rose is filled with the essence of rose, as well as the stems, leaves and thorns. Blended with a slightly fruity and aquatic accord, it’s a real homage to the entire flower, not just the pretty petals. Also, the lovely thing about this fragrance is that each bottle purchased comes with a tiny fragrance tester, so you can try the perfume on your skin and see how you like it. As long as the bottle hasn’t been used, only the tester, it can be returned within 14 days. I wish more brands did this, it’s such a good idea for those who can’t travel into big cities to make their purchases.

Neal's Yard Remedies 'Wild Rose Beauty Balm'

Neal’s Yard Remedies ‘Wild Rose Beauty Balm’

Ah! A cult classic if ever there was one! The Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Beauty Balm does a multitude of things! This useful little multi-tasker can be used as a cleanser, face mask, super-hydrating moisturiser for any dry / stubborn patches (feet, heels, elbows etc), cuticle cream and lip balm. It’s a multi-award winning product and it’s a suitcase favourite of mine! As useful as it is luxurious!

Dr Sebagh 'Rose de Vie' Cream Cleanser

Jurlique ‘Rose’ Hand Cream

There are a lot of beautiful hand creams out there, but one of my forever favourites has to be the Jurlique Rose Hand cream, they do make this cream in other scents (jasmin, citrus and lavender) but rose is my favourite. It’s so rich and velvety, yet it soaks in super fast and leaves hands feeling non-greasy. Each year they create a small amount of limited edition tubes from that year’s crop of Rosa Gallica, which is unique to the Jurlique farm. I always try and get a tube of this hand cream as they smell beautiful and I love the limited edition packaging. Fellow hand cream addicts, you need to this, the limited edition if possible, but if not, the classic rose is also fabulous! Other rose based products from Jurlique you should try include their finishing powder, cleanser, face mist and face cream.

Balance Me 'Rose Otto' Face Oil

Balance Me ‘Rose Otto’ Face Oil

Again, this is a long time favourite of mine! The Balance Me Rose Otto Face oil is rich, luxurious and leaves skin feeling soft, hydrated, supple and without wanting to sound like a weirdo, loved! I’m a big fan of this one and it’s also suitable for the boys, as I know my friend theverysimong.com and his beardy face is also hooked on it! Also worth checking out is the Balance Me Rose Otto Hand Cream, which comes in a variety of sizes including a rather handy handbag size tube.

Pixi Beauty 'Rose Caviar Essence' Serum

Pixi Beauty ‘Rose Caviar Essence’ Serum

Another current rose skincare favourite of mine is the Pixi Rose Caviar Essence Serum, it balances, heels and evens skin tone, it’s just a lovely fast absorbing serum which is filled with rose goodness. Whilst our noses love rose, so does our skin!

Jo Loves 'White Rose & Lemon Leaves' Perfume

Jo Loves ‘White Rose & Lemon Leaves’ Perfume

I may have mentioned how much I adore Jo Loves White Rose & Lemon Leaves Perfume in this post, but I couldn’t resist giving it another mention because I LOVE it so much! Also, most of the rose products out there are red roses, which I generally prefer (I’m not so into white florals) but this one is truly special! The white roses against the zesty green lemon leaves is just stunning and such an interesting twist on a classic rose fragrance.

So, there we have it, my favourite rose scented items because #IHaveThisThingWithRoses… Let’s make the hashtag happen!
