I’m an old school Miller Harris fan and one of the first fragrances I discovered and loved by them was Figue Amere. Over the years, Miller Harris decided to discontinue this fragrance along with others to make space for their newer creations. However, as we all know, fragrance is such a personal thing and when a perfume we love gets discontinued, it can be heartbreaking. Which is why, for a limited time only, Miller Harris have released a limited number of four of their most requested no-longer-in-existance fragrances, Figue Amere, Geranium Bourbon, Terre de Bois and Fleur Oriental. This post features Figure Amere because it’s my favourite of the four, but you can see and read all about the full collection here.

Notes

Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, Fig Leaf

Heart Notes: Narcissus Poeticus, Rose, Violet Leaf, Angelica Grain

Base Notes: Cedarwood, Amber, Sea Moss

I have such a thing for the scent of fig, but here’s the problem I have with the note. Firstly, there are not *that* many fig-based fragrances out there and the few that are, tend to dissipate fast, it’s a little like Citrus, it just doesn’t linger long. I can remember the exact moment I discovered Miller Harris had discontinued Figue Amere, I was in the Bruton Street store and I mentioned that it was my favourite of their collection, the sales assistant broke the news to me and my heart sank. The thing about Figue Amere is that it is special. I mean, not everyone loves the scent of fig as much as I do, but if you are a fan, this is top notch, the king of fig fragrances. It’s quite an autumnal themed fig; it’s woody, earthy and rich. The milky green fig is supported with juicy berry notes, sensual florals, hints of fresh citrus and earthy woodsy tones of moss and cedarwood. Imagine roaming around an enchanted forest, the ground is wet, the fig trees are lush and the berries are ripening and the wild flowers are in bloom. It’s just wonderful! If you are like me and you love fig fragrances, this. is. the. one! I will forever hope that Miller Harris reconsider putting Figue Amere in their permanent collection, but for the moment, I’m just so happy to have another bottle!
