Flower Arranging with Pixi Beauty
You know that episode of ‘Sex & The City’ where Charlotte announces she’s going to quit work to generally swan around Manhattan having lunch and doing rather lovely grown-up things. Y’know, like flower arranging or a pottery class? Well, last week I had an insight into that life. It all started when I met up with LBQ blog at Marylebone Station in the morning, we had a leisurely walk (coffee in hand, obvs) through the pretty streets of London and arrived at Jane Packer Florist ready for a flower arranging class with Pixi Beauty.
We Live Like This
I have to be honest, I actually thought flower arranging would be pretty easy. I was expecting a few roses and a little foliage, which I would just casually pop in a vase until it was full, tinker around with it a little and then say ‘oh well isn’t that lovely’. Turns out we were making a bouquet, which is actually a LOT harder and once I had stripped the roses of all their excess leaves, I found myself struggling. Instead you have to hold the flowers in one hand and artfully arrange the bunch whilst holding onto it and whilst rotating things around. Luckily the team at Jane Packer were super helpful (and skilled) and I came away with a bunch of flowers that was SO PRETTY that strangers stopped LBQ and I in the street to compliment us on the blooms. Each time, mock-bashfully took the flattery and mentioned we had been at flower arranging class that morning, with a quiet smugness that said ‘We live like this’. We extended our date with a trip to Percy & Founders, drinking more coffee, styling up a few flatlays on their oh-so-blogger friendly marble tables and generally having a chatter about our lives. She’s getting married in a few weeks, I’m still in the throws of renovating a house, FYI.
Pixi Rose Skincare
So, let’s chat about the skin care shall we? The reason we were flower arranging was because the two latest launches from Pixi beauty are rose based… Rose Caviar Essence and Rose Flash Balm. The Rose Caviar Essence is a beautiful serum, wonderfully light, applies like a dream and leaves skin bright, fresh and feeling great. I hate overloading my skin with too many products as once my make up goes on, it just feels like too much, so this super light formula is a must-have for me. As for the Rose Flash Balm, this 3-in-1 product can be used as a moisturiser, primer or a face mask (if you use a thicker layer and leave on for about 10minutes). Personally, I have been using it as a primer, as it gives a great flawless base with a lightweight feel and a nice hit of hydration. I love a multi-use product like this as you can have a play around and see how they work best for you, and they make great travel companions! As with all Pixi products these two are cruelty free and paraben free. Don’t you just love Pixi Beauty?!?
