August Favourites

Hello! It’s that time of the month again! Well, actually, we are a week into September (seriously, how did that happen!??) so maybe I should have finished this post a few days ago, but you know I’m not the fasted of bloggers! Anyway, here are my August favourites… are you ready!?

pretty-little-liars-on-netflix-.jpg

The Keepers

I think I might be a little late to the party with this one, but damn, the Netflix series The Keepers is INCREDIBLE! It’s all about the death of Sister Cathy and everything surrounding it. It’s sad, horrifying and oh-so-interesting. If you are interested in serial killers, murders, crimes, cold cases and all those kind of things you don’t expect to hear about on my blog, then make sure you watch The Keepers.

clarins make up autumn 2017

Clarins A/W Collection

My love for Clarins will never fade. What can I say, I love the A/W collection, the beautiful red lipsticks, the super nude nude eyeshadow mixed with shimmery smoky tones. It’s just lush! Also, over the past few months I have found myself using a super cheap red lipliner and using this new Clarins one has made me remember the power of a sh*t-hot lipliner! Clarins, never change! I love you the way you are!

love-potion-cup

Love Potion Cup

I’m always on the look out for new cute things and this Love Potion Cup is pretty much the cutest thing ever! I feel so much cooler when I use this bad boy and when I *finally* get my office set up, I know that it will look adorable in all my desk instagram pictures! It’s from Rooi Home who have amazing homewears, in case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been doing a lot of homewear shopping lately… *insert laughing so hard to cry emoji here*.

Listening

As we all know, I am a major podcast addict and this month I have loving The Butterfly Effect. Now, I know what you are going say, it’s only available on Audible, however, if you sign up for a 3 month trial, you won’t pay anything unless you continue your subscription and you will get a free credit every month (3 credits in total, obvs) and for each credit you get a free download, so you can use one of those on The Butterfly Effect. I can’t recommend this enough! It’s SO good!!!!! So worth listening to, it’s on a par with Serial and S-town, it’s THAT good!!!! I have also been loving Heavyweight podcast, I think I have recommended it before, but I have listened to the whole series now and it’s really good. Go listen to both of them and then tweet me to let m knew what you think!!!

Bourne-Hollingsworth-green-hanging-plants-and-white-brick-walls

Bourne & Hollingsworth

I have been meaning to go to Bourne & Hollingsworth for a while now, but because of it’s slightly off-my-radar location (I rarely go round Clerkenwell / Farringdon area TBH) I had never been. We decided we were overdue a ladies lunch and we made the effort to try somewhere new and my first response was Bourne & Hollingsworth! I can’t stress enough how beautiful it was! Everything from the building, lighting, atmosphere, decor, service… it was all perfect! We had lunch and then stayed there chatting for hours and I just loved it! If you are looking for a beautiful lunch/brunch venue in London, this is it!!

Nars #JetSetter Palette

Nars #JetSetter Palette

The worst thing about not going on holiday is not going on holiday… the second worst thing is not being able to buy beauty at 20% off via World Duty Free. There is nothing I love more than browsing the beauty isles at the airport, knowing that everything is 20% off. I always make a bee-line towards the WDF exclusives too, as this is where you often get the best items, the rare compacts which you can only pick up a the airport and the limited edition perfumes I love so much. The latest lust-worthy palette is the Nars #JetSetter palette, it includes four eyeshadows, Laguna bronzer, Orgasm blusher and Dolce Vita lipstick pencil. Pure perfection!

French Bedroom Company Styling

This month I did an Instagram takeover for the French Bedroom Company. I cannot stress enough how I much I love their beds! Whilst their pink quilted wood bed will have to stay on my wishlist for a while longer, I’m so happy to have some new accessories from there, the ombre pink blanket, gold and pink splash cushion and the gold pineapple ornaments. You can read my interview with them here. It was so much fun styling up their items, let me know what you think!

Ren Atlantic Kelp & Microalgae Bath Oil

Ren Atlantic Kelp & Microalgae Bath Oil

I don’t jump on many health and well-being trends, but ‘Self Care’ is deffo one I’m into. I mean, what could be better, an excuse to de-stress, take baths, treat yourself… whatever makes you feel good! I’m so onboard! Anyway, I have been having a lot of baths recently and one of my absolute favourite bath products has to be Ren Atlantic Kelp & Microalgae Bath Oil. It smells like every great spa you have ever been in and sometimes I blend it with a handful of epsom salts so I get the scent of the Ren with the detoxing benefits of the salts. I honestly think it’s impossible to be stressed whilst you are in the bath… just saying!

camille-walala-x-play-now-gallery-london-color-inspo

Camille Walala Exhibition

One of my favourite things this month was going to the Camille Walala Exhibition. It’s a giant maze, filled with patterns, colours, mirrors and awesome-ness! I went to get some home inspo, I’m tempted to make my house a little more colourful now… and yes, I know what you are thinking, ‘Is that even possible?’. I know now that it is!

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation

Over the past few weeks, I have been desperately trying to use the last scraps of my beloved Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation. I recommend this foundation to everyone I can and I honestly think it’s one of the best foundations out there and massively under-rated. I love this foundation and I have just got a new one, which makes me beyond happy! This foundation has EVERYTHING, it’s high coverage and has an SPF 50, but because it applies with a cushion and is stored behind mesh, so it gives you the ability to apply a super light layer. I’m SO happy to have another, it’s honestly such a brilliant foundation!

peggy porschen cakes

Hot Chocolates

Now that the weather is getting a little cooler, I am absolutely loving partaking in Autumnal activities like drinking hot chocolate, taking baths and burning candles. I forget how good these bad boys are! If I’m in London, I love the hot chocolate at Laduree, if I’m not near Laduree, I love the Starbucks Signature hot chocolate and if I’m at home I love the Malteasers hot chocolate because it’s deliciously malty!

Crabtree & Evelyn

Crabtree & Evelyn

August saw the release of a new Crabtree & Evelyn collection and I absolutely adore it! It’s got a real self care vibe to it, from invigorating morning fragrances of Citron & Coriander and more soothing, pampering fragrances like Pomegranate & Argan Oil. The range allows you to punctuate your day with miniature indulgent moments, it’s got a real gal-on-the-go vibe to it with practical hand wash and fast-absorbing body gel, as well as classic luxurious products like body oils and body sorbets. It’s such a nice range and it’s so worth popping into see next time you are in town!

#MyLifeMyRules

This month I created a super fun blog post with EMMI CAFFÈ LATTE around the summer campaign of #MyLifeMyRules. This could be anything you want from having an impromptu water fight in the park, or taking a weekend roadtrip to the seaside with your best buds. One of my personal favourite ways to live life by my own rules is to dress like every day is your birthday. You know that feeling of wearing all your favourite things, despite the fact that they don’t *quite* match but you don’t care because you are going to have a freaking awesome day and you love every single thing you are wearing…. well, I challenge you to give it a go! Do it today, or tomorrow, just do it! It’s SO much fun!

Lee Stafford Rainbow Curlers

Lee Stafford Rainbow Curlers

I literally cannot express how excited I am by these Lee Stafford Rainbow Curlers! I mean, just look at them! They are freaking awesome!!!! They are so much fun, they look so cool on your dressing table and of course, they are Lee Stafford, so they give you the perfect curl in a jiffy!!! Obsessed… Obsessed!

valentino sunglasses black crystals 2017

Valentino Sunglasses

Forever the sunglasses addict! I bloody love these Valentino Sunglasses, I love the shape of them, I love the branding and I can’t get enough of the sparkles in the corner which have a nod to retro style, without making me feel on show, or like I am wearing fancy dress. So much love for these bad boys, they have been my go-to sunnies all month!

Kevin Murphy Haircare

Kevin Murphy Haircare

Also, whilst we are discussing hair, let’s chat about how much I LOVE Kevin Murphy haircare. I feel like this range is the best kept secret in haircare. I have been using Blonde. Angel. Wash to maintain my blonde locks and I love the Young. Again. Masque and Rinse (hair mask and conditioner, tailored towards us slightly older folk) and they really do revive, refresh and restore hair! LOVE!

So, there we have it, all my favourites for August, I hope you like it and do let me know if you have any questions or if any of these things are favourites of yours too!
