Urban Decay ‘Naked Heat’ Eyeshadow Palette

Holy Crap! This is a palette that blew me away! Like everyone, I saw the news blasts that it was coming out, I took one look at the colours and I thought ‘Not for me!’. Even when it came on pre-release and everyone was going mental to get hold of an pre-sale palette, I didn’t bother. Again, I thought it was pretty and all but I wasn’t sure it was worth the hype and I really didn’t think those shades of burnt orange, bronze and copper would suit me. In all honestly, I wasn’t sure what the fuss was about?!

Ladies Who Lunch

I wasn’t really giving the Urban Decay ‘Naked Heat’ Eyeshadow Palette much thought and then I went for lunch with Hayley (LBQ Blog) and Jane (British Beauty Blogger). Here’s a fun fact about Jane, she’s one of the top UK beauty bloggers and she gets advanced copies of pretty much everything you can imagine. She also has a tendency to keep the super hot items in her handbag to whip out and share with people. This can be anything from a Korean foam cleanser which squeezes out in the shape of a rose (for real, it was amazing!!) to the latest palette everyone is talking about. She insisted we all had a play and a swatch and she told us how much she loved it and how universal it was. I nodded along and agreed it was very pretty. She then started to apply her personal favourite shade to show how it made her eyes pop. It did! She then looked into my eyes and pointed to a shimmery copper colour and said ‘Put that shade on’. I was a little surprised as we were in a resturant in central london, (and a fancy one at that) and I quickly made an excuse about wearing winged eyeliner so it wouldn’t work. She came back with ‘It’ll work, put it on’. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, right?! So on it went and Boom! I was convinced! I suddenly understood what the hype was about. This unwearable looking shade of shimmery copper looked HOT! Before I knew it, Jane was picking out a different shade of ‘Heat’ for Hayley and again, in the middle of a busy fancy restaurant she applied it. POP! Her eyes looked amazing! We all marvelled about how good we looked, all wearing different shades of the palette, all different ages, all different skin tones and colouring.

Wearable & Modern

That’s the thing about the Urban Decay ‘Naked Heat’ Eyeshadow Palette, even though it doesn’t look that wearable, it actually is. It just makes your eyes pop and it feels really modern and exciting. I’m not that adventurous when it comes to eyeshadow because I’m so devoted to winged eyeliner, but actually, this palette is awesome! If you are tempted, buy it. If you didn’t think you were tempted, try it. I swear to you, this is literally the best thing to be released in the longest time. There might be a lot of hype surrounding it, but damn, it’s 100% worth it! PS. I’m sure you have all read about 100 reviews of this palette already, which is why I thought a story time post would be way more fun!

Have you tried the Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow palette yet? If so, let me know what you think of it!

I’ve been debating buying this palette. The colours are absolutely gorgeous but I think maybe they’re too similar to colours I already have in the Violet Voss Ride or Die palette. ? Still soooo tempting though. xx
