Colour & Print inspiration with Camille Walala
I think we all know I’m not afraid of a splash of colour but there is a certain woman who makes me look positively tame when it comes to Print and Pantone… I am, of course, talking about Camille Walala! It’s my love for her which took me all the way down to Greenwich to check out her current solo exhibition at the Now Gallery. I also thought it might be a pretty amazing place to get some home inspo!
If you have been following my home posts, then you might have noticed that we have some pretty awesome colourful rooms, from a blue bedroom, green snug, pink and yellow living room and pops of green in our hallway. We still have a few rooms left to complete, but our house is starting to look cute and colourful. However, part of me wonders…. is something missing? And if so, is that something print?! Wondering around the Camille Walala X PLAY exhibition I started to ask myself, is there a way we can incorporate bold graphics into our home?! Perhaps on the ceiling of the office? The staircase in the hall, polka dots on the floor? All the colours and prints looked phenomenal at the exhibition and the over all effect is bright, uplifting and joyful. So watch this space guys, I won’t be ripping off Camille’s iconic prints, but it is making me think it’s time to insert a few fun motifs and prints into our decor. I just need to figure out how and where! Please do comment below if you have any suggestions and in the mean time, keep an eye on my Twitter and Instagram for home updates!
The Camille Walala X PLAY exhibition runs from 14th July to 24th September and you can find it at the Now Gallery in Greenwich, London. The exhibition is free to get in and you will need to take your shoes off to enter the maze, so make sure you are wearing non-holy socks!
