An Exciting Announcement!
Hello My friends! This is going to be a super short blog post, but I have a pretty exciting announcement to make… I have been nominated for an Amara Interior Blog Award in the Best Interior Lifestyle Blog Category!!!
Ok, so I’m going to back up here! A year and a half ago I bought a house with my boyfriend. It is a beautiful 1860’s house, it looks like a pub from the outside, and from the inside, it’s well… a bit weird!! We have a big grand staircase, loads of stained glass windows, huge fireplaces… you name it! I know everyones’ house starts as a ‘house’ before it turns into a ‘home’, but ours looked like a weird building and we had to turn into a house, before we could finally make it feel like a home! It’s been a pretty hefty project, to say the least! We have had oodles of help from builders and tradesmen, but we have also gotten stuck in and done a lot of the hard graft ourselves. We pulled a ceiling down, stripped floors, sanded woodwork and painted layers upon layers of paint. It was hard getting into bed at night and thinking ‘How is there rubble in our bed?!’ and living without a fridge hasn’t been easy either (no fridge, no washing machine, no cooker for a whole year and a half now!) however, we had a vision of what we could do and nothing was going to stop up us… or will stop us, because let’s be honest… we aren’t done yet!
A Huge Thank You!
Over the last year I have been sharing our journey on my Instagram stories, blog and twitter. I had no idea that our house renovations would generate so much interest, and the encouragement I have had from my readers has been insane. It really has spurred us on! So thank you to everyone for that! We are still designing our kitchen, but we have finally finished our bedroom, guest bedroom, living room and bathrooms. We have had so much fun styling up corners and there is plenty more to come over the next few weeks!
Amara Interior Blog Awards
I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyones love and support with this project, it’s been really overwhelming and if you had a minute to spare, I would be so incredibly grateful if you could hop over to the Amara Interior Blog Awards and vote for me, I would be so so so grateful! I promise it only takes a second and if I make the shortlist, I will literally be the happiest girl in the world!
