June Favourites

my qv radio lulu guinness

I’m still listening to a lot of podcasts, mostly murders (obvs) but I have been trying to listen to more ‘work’ related ones. I have been keeping up to date with Hashtag Authentic by my friend Sara of Me & Orla, as well as listening to ‘Made Online’ which is a brand new podcast by my friend Hayley of London Beauty Queen. Super exciting! Aside from that, I have been listening to The High Low, which always has some super interesting tit-bits in it, and I have a huge girl crush on Dolly Alderton. Murder wise, I binge listened to  ‘Finding Tammy Jo’ and the twelve part series about Charles Manson on the podcast ‘You Must Remember This’. Also, I have been listening to ‘Criminal’ which I started listening to months ago, but I wasn’t that into. I made the error of starting at the beginning, but since each episode is a self-contained story, I would recommend listening to the most recent ones first as they get better and better as time goes on! Oh and the adorable radio in the picture is a collaboration between VQ X Lulu Guinness, isn’t it cute?!

MAC X Steve J & Yoni P

MAC X Steve J & Yoni P

This month saw the release of the MAC X Steve J & Yoni P collaboration and as you can imagine, it is right up my street. The packaging is just adorable, there is a bright red lipstick which I adore and the eyeshadow palette is just adorable, those eyes right?! I’m still not sure I can face the idea of using the eyeshadow yet though, because it’s so special I don’t want to ruin it!!! Does anyone else wait a while before they start using their prettiest make up?

cath kidston banana handbag

Banana Handbag

OK! So I think this might be the worlds cutest handbag! It’s by Cath Kidston, it is an adorable tote bag with a palm and banana print and the best part is…. it has Bananas as straps! I tweeted this the other day and it got so much attention and rightly so! I’m still trying to figure out how to style it up for an outfit post, but I couldn’t wait to share it because I just love it so much!!

Simply Beach Swimsuit

A few weeks ago I was in Egypt and I took with me a bit of an old shabby swimsuit, it worked fine, but I didn’t feel that comfortable in it, it didn’t really support my boobs, I was worried it was too low cut and I was paranoid it might go see-through in the water. Yep. It’s time for a new swimming costume!!!! It took a sweet time, but I finally found one I’m so happy with! It’s from Simply Beach and it’s supportive, slimming and doesn’t feel too boob-tastic! Ladies, take my advice and update your swimsuit before you get to this stage!

Glamglow Glowstarter Illuminating Moisturiser

I’m all about the glow, I own oodles of highlighters, in both powder and liquid form and I’m always looking for new ways to look radiant, without powder and glitter settling into my wrinkles. I’m currently loving the new Glamglow Glowstarter Illuminating Moisturiser (Shade Pearl Glow is great for us pale girls) it smells a little like Starbust sweets and it just makes my skin look healthy and radiant. It is subtle, so you can wear it alone, just as a moisturiser on make-up free days to give your skin a little ‘something something’, or you can wear with your foundation to add a little zing to your flawless face. It’s subtle and glitter free, but it deffo adds a little something and it’s also just a great face cream too!

Etro 'Paisley'

Etro ‘Paisley’

During the heatwave, I have been feeling insanely hot and gross, which has made me search high and low for a fragrance which is clean, refreshing and cuts through the hot hot heat and just makes me feel clean, even when I’m on a stuffy tube! Etro Paisley does exactly that, it contains uplifting notes of lime, cassis, ylang ylang, pink pepper, jasmine and musk. It’s fresh, fabulous and I have been loving it this month!

Pretty Little Liars – The Finale!

OMG! I can’t believe PLL is finally over!!! I got into this series fairly late on, but I really committed to it; I mean, I binged this show, it gave me sleepless nights, I read some forums, did twitter searches and chatted endlessly to friends about it (most of whom were judging me for being into this teen-targeted show). I can’t deny, it’s a bit of a relief to see the back of this show, even though I loved it, but I couldn’t handle how many storylines were repeated and the final series felt like a sprint of a marathon I just wanted over. If anyone wants to chat about Spencer’s ‘English’ accent, please do message me. I have watched the ‘Alex’ Scenes a few times now because I’m so obsessed with it!

pink green and yellow lattes on marble table _Fotor

The Ned

I went for a meeting at The Ned this month and I was bowled over by how insanely pretty it is! You will find it at Bank, not far away from where I used to live and it’s a huge, huge building which is filled with beautiful booths, marble tables, antiques and incredible food. I absolutely loved it and I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to visit here! Plus if you are looking for London’s most instagramable lattes, they are here!

Celine New Audrey Sunglasses 1

Celine New Audrey Sunglasses

Usually my go-to sunnies are always Ray-Ban, but since my boyfriend dropped mine and the screw fell out, I have been wearing other sunglasses instead, namely my Celine New Audrey Sunglasses from Sunglasses Shop. I got these a few weeks ago and I absolutely love the shape and size of them. They feel super comfortable and I feel really good when I wear them. At this time of year, sunglasses are totally essential and these are such a great design. PS. Don’t worry, my Ray-bans are fixable, I was worried too (I may have almost shed a tear) but they just need a new screw and they will be back on the road!

balance me spf 25

Balance Me Suncare

Occasionally my friends come to me and ask me for advice on what to do with with their skin issues. I usually refer them to LBQ as she is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to such things, but here’s one I managed to solve myself. My friend has fair skin and burns really easily, however, a lot of SPF creams can bring her out in a rash, she asked me what I would suggest. I dug through my supplies and gave her a few options to try and Balance Me‘s Natural Perfection SPF came out on top, it’s 99% natural and gives her all the protection she needs with causing any kind of rash, itching or irritation. She has struggled with sunscreen for years and I’m so happy we managed to find a solution. Helping her has been a favourite thing of mine this month and if you have similar issues with sunscreen, we recommend trying Balance Me!

graze snacks

Graze Snacks

Now that I have moved out of London, I have different handbag needs. These days, I always carry a phone charger with me and more often than not, I also have a few snacks in my bag too. Just something I can nibble on during my train journey, or on the way home if I’m getting a late train back which doesn’t involve dinner. Anyway, these new Graze protein bites are nothing short of delicious. I have the honey and seed ones and they are surprisingly filling, compact snacks which are super handbag friendly.

Jo Malone London ‘English Oak & Hazelnut’

This month I went to the preview event of the next Jo Malone London release. It’s not coming out til September, but I couldn’t wait until then to talk about it, the first fragrance is English Oak & Redcurrant. The second is Jo Malone London English Oak & Hazelnut, I love them both but the one I am most excited about is English Oak & Hazelnut. I love woodsy, smoky tones, with hints of almond milk, chestnut and grapefruit. It’s beautiful for the Autumn and definitely one to look out for in the Autumn.

I’m so so happy that we have finally finished our bedroom! We have worked so hard on it over the past year, it’s taken a long time to get there, but I absolutely love it! I did a whole post about it here, but soon I will do a ‘before and after’ post so you can really see the transformation! Also, thank you to everyone for the amazing comments, it’s been an incredible response, so thank you!

Teapigs Matcha & Mint

Teapigs Matcha & Mint

If you don’t yet know the power of Teapigs Matcha tea, then it’s time you get involved! I swear by the stuff,  it’s incredible for energy levels and just general wellbeing. Every time I feel in a bit of a lull, Ashanti will say to me ‘Take your own advice, get back on the matcha!’ and it always works! No joke, this stuff is a game changer and now there is a new addition to the Teapigs family, matcha and mint, which has all the goodness of a classic matcha latte, but this time, just a little more delicious! PS. Lots of brands make matcha, but I always buy Teapigs, because I trust their quality.

Sanoflore Floral Water Face Mist

I swear all my favourite things are heatwave related this month!!! I have been dousing myself in face mist every few minutes and totally loving it! I have a lot of high end face mists which are great, but when you are using it as frequently as I am, you have to switch to a slightly cheaper brand, which still does the trick. That brand for me, is Sanoflore, it’s a floral face mist, it smells like roses and it’s beautiful, but at £15 for 200ml, I feel a lot less guilty than showering myself in it every 10 minutes!

emmi caffe latte coffee

Over the past few months I have been working on a campaign with Emmi CAFFE LATTÈ, it’s coming to an end now, but it’s been so much fun! They had 200 festival tickets to give away and they want to help everyone to have the most amazing summer ever, shake things up, throw out the rule book and do things their own way. As a non-young, non-skinny, non-monochrome blogger, I like to thing I play by my own rules, but it’s been SO much fun shaking things up this summer! Plus it’s been a great excuse to drink as many chilled lattes as I want!!

Bobbi Brown Liquid Lip Paint

Bobbi Brown Liquid Lip Paint

This month I have discovered Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip and I am smitten with the, especially the red shade. They are fun to apply, kind of like a chubby crayon that you have to squeeze and they are so highly pigmented that they make your lips look crazy big. They are quick thick too, so I feel like they almost give my lips a little more volume because of this, or maybe I’m just overdrawing my lips, but whatever it is, I LOVE these!

lazy oaf boring cardigan rainbow yellow red pink

Lazy Oaf Cardigan

This cardigan has brought me soooooo much joy lately! I absolutely love it and every time I wear it people seem so happy that it exists in the world! It’s by Lazy Oaf and across the back it say’s ‘Boring’, I bought it for myself from ASOS and I’m so lucky I got in quick as within a day or two, it was sold out completely! Best cardigan ever? I think so!

Let me know if any of these items take your fancy and what your monthly faves have been!
