#MyLifeMyRules
Anyone who watches my Instagram stories will have noticed that recently we have spent every single weekend doing DIY. Over the past few months, we have painted walls, pulled down a ceiling (seriously, it’s true!), restored a fireplace, stripped floors and so much more. Whilst we have had fun doing it and even more fun decorating (have you seen our candy coloured living room?! We considered going for Scandic-Inspired neutral shades of grey, white and navy, but we wanted to break the rules!). We took inspiration from my friends at Emmi CAFFÈ LATTE and tore up our to-do list in favour of living life with a little more razzmatazz. It’s #MyLifeMyRules!
Festival Fun
As fate would have it, that weekend, there was a festival in Margate, however, we didn’t have any tickets. We checked the usual ticket resale websites and found nothing. We then checked twitter and came up trumps! Within minutes we were dressed and at the festival, we roamed around the stages, ate ice cream in the sun and went on fairground rides… Did I forget to mention the festival was held at a vintage theme park?! We took selfies on the merry-go-round, screamed our faces off on the Waltzers and rode the big wheel as the sun went down! We then made our way to the main stage just in time to watch Gorillaz take the stage. It was awesome! Now, I challenge YOU, what are you gonna do this weekend to shake things up?! Maybe you already have plans to have a casual dinner locally with your girlfriends? Instead, hop on a train to London, eat dim sum in Chinatown and find yourself a karaoke bar and dance the night away!
Coastal Roadtrip
The following day, we woke up, had a coffee (Cappuccino CAFFÈ LATTE of course!) and headed out on a bit of a coastal road trip. I wore my favourite Chanel handbag and a mega-bright cardigan for the occasion, possibly a little colourful for a Sunday morning, but hey, it’s #MyLifeMyRules! Our first stop was Broadstairs; the home of Morelli’s Ice cream and the best roast dinner in town. We walked along the beach, past all the multi-coloured beach huts and poked our heads into all the seaside shops. From there, we drove down the coastal roads and finally Whitstable and explored new corners of Kent. We sat on the beach, ate homemade gelato and chatted about how much fun the festival had been the day before. As much as I love doing DIY and making our house beautiful, it felt so nice to get outside, do something new and really take advantage to all the amazing things you can do in the summer!
#MyLifeMyRules
Summer is such a magical time! I love the long days and the way everyone feels happier when the sun is shining. I love being able to walk rather than take the bus and sit in the park for hours on end for no reason whatsoever. And of course, all of the Summer festivals! This summer Emmi CAFFÈ LATTE want everyone to have an amazing time and take the opportunity to live life by their own rules. You can do this in big ways and small ways, from an impromptu coffee dates in the park with you best friend, wear your favourite cocktail dress to run errands, or doing something huge like taking that spontaneous trip you always dreamed of! Whatever you do, break a few habits, disrupt your norm, start something new and buck the trends, after all, it’s your life and your rules.
