Peacocks & Peonies
Happy Sunday my friends! I can’t believe HOW warm it is! I’m currently sat in a darkened room with a fan blowing on me and a damp flannel around my neck. It’s days like this I really miss having a fridge! Next time you reach into your fridge for a thirst-quenching soft drink… think of me!
I can’t believe we have been renovating our house for the past 18 months, time really flies doesn’t it?! We have achieved quite a lot, but there is still plenty more to do! This weekend we gave ourselves the task of sanding the floorboards in the entrance hall, it sounds like an easy enough job, right? Wrong! Our entrance hall is weirdly one of the biggest rooms in the house and it took all day long. We hired the floor sander from local builders yard and when we made the arrangements, we had no idea it would be one of the hottest weekends of the year! It was intense. It’s hot, heavy work where you have to wear goggles, a face mask and protective clothing. It was super-hard work and sweatier than any spin class, but we got there in the end!
This week, we also spent some time accessorising the upstairs snug. I have been hunting for a side / coffee table for this room for a few months now but everything was either boring or crazily expensive. But earlier this week I spotted this table in the local British Heart Foundation store and thought it looked kind of cool. I snapped a picture of it and sent it to a few of my Instagram buddies for a second opinion, Susie replied instantly an said she loved it. That’s all I needed to hear, she has a fabulous living room and if it was a yes from her, I knew it must be a gooden. £25 well spent, I say!
Peonies & Peacocks
I got this Peacock lamp a couple of weeks ago, it was a gift from Debenham’s and as soon as I saw it, I knew it would look amazing against the green walls. It’s tall, majestic and unusual, the finish of it is flawless and it look and feels like a premium accessory. I’m so happy with it! All I need to finish the table is a few books, flowers and candles. The Jo Loves Candle has our names printed on it, it was a limited edition one from valentines day and the Fornasetti Owl Print candle compliments the wall perfectly! I’m quite new to accessorising coffee tables, so let me know what you think!
