The Spring Candle Edit

Good morning! The sun is shinning and the windows are wide open with the sea breeze wafting into the room. It definitely feels like spring and it’s that wonderful time of year where room temperature is perfect, the evenings are light and it’s not yet hot and stuffy on public transport. I wanted to take a few minutes to share some of my current favourite candles, all of which are perfect for Spring! Welcome, to the imaginatively named, Spring Candle Edit.

floris rose peony candle

Floris ‘Peony & Rose’

Nothing says ‘Spring’ quite like a flower market piled high with pretty pink Peonies! I often wonder if Peonies are made all the more special because of how scarce they are. Like spring, they seem to come and go in a heart beat, leaving us with a fresh batch of Pinterest content to enjoy pinning for the rest of the year. Whatever the reason, I love a good peony! Which is why I’m excited to share my love for Floris Peony & Rose candle, it’s rich with rose and feminine with peonies, it also has a hint of violet leaves, green tea and cinnamon in it. It’s a wonderfully timeless and elegant floral fragrance.

 Neom 'Refreshed' candle

Neom ‘Refreshed’

Oh la la! I do love Neom Organics! I have been buying their candles for years and I have recently been loving their perfumes too! One of my favourite candles by Neom Organics is the Refreshed Candle, which is zesty, refreshing and slightly spa-y with its dominant notes of Lemon and Basil. Refreshing, inspiring and definitely a mini boost to your energy levels!

Orla-Kiely-Geranium

Orla Kiely ‘Geranium’

I have had a few Orla Kiely candles now and I always come back to them, partly because I love the scents, partly because the colourfully printed glasses are just so lovely! The fig scent is beautiful, as is the lemon, but right now, I’m loving the Geranium fragrance. It’s filled with the scent of slightly nostalgic white florals, as well as fresh uplifting eucalyptus and clary sage. Clean, spring-like and oh-so-lovely!

 Aveda-Light-The-Way-candle

Aveda ‘Light The Way’

Here is a delightful candle which which bring a little light to your life, as well as the world. The Aveda ‘Light The Way’ candle is priced at £16 and 100% of the price of the candle (minus VAT) goes to fund water-related projects as part of the Global Grerngrants Fund. For those who aren’t already convinced, the candle smells like vanilla, cinammon and ylang ylang. It’s very lovely!

 La-Manufacture-Des-Chateaux-Bassin-Du-Parc.j

La Manufacture Des Chateaux ‘Bassin Du Parc’

I am fairly new to the perfumery, La Manufacture Des Chateaux, but I am loving their Bassin Du Parc candle. It contains notes of moist green florals; lotus, peony and cyclamen, it smells like early mornings in a few filled spring garden. This candle is a little more subtle than others, it’s soft and aquatic and has a quietness to it, which is perfect for those who love scented candles but don’t like them to be overpowering. It’s especially great if your initial is ‘M’!

The Merchant of Venice 'Cachemire Wood'

The Merchant of Venice ‘Cachemire Wood’

If you are looking for something a little woodier and sweeter, then The Merchant of Venice Cachemire Wood candle is lovely! It is warm and enveloping, with notes of Amber, Cashmere Wood, Egyptian Linen, but it has a freshness to it, thanks to the orange flowers. I love the pretty red glass jar and  warm, delicious scent. It’s definitely a gooden for cosy spring evenings!

Fornasetti-Flora candle

Fornasetti ‘Flora’

I have so much love in my heart for Fornasetti candles, I have quite a collection of them now, I just can’t get enough! I love the scents, I love the vessel designs. The candles smell incredible and when they have fully burnt down, you can use them to house your cacti, store your make up brushes or even drink your morning coffee from them. So many options, which is probably why I have such a vast collection of them! My current favourite scent is the Flora it smells like lily of the valley, jasmine, tuberose & sandalwood.

Annick-Goutal-Lile-au-Thé

Annick Goutal ‘L’ile au Thé’

There’s nothing quite like the scent of a fresh, citrus, smoky tea and Annick Goutal L’ile au Thé have nailed it with this one. It combines top notes of mandarin and tea; Heart notes of osmanthus and base notes of white musks. It’s so fresh and zesty and fills the room with scent a lot faster than you would expect too. It’s perfect for tea addicts and it’s just wonderfully uplifting!

Etro-Musk

Etro ‘Musk’

I think Musk has a bit of a bad reputation, but damn, I love a bit of musk and this Etro Musk is absolutely stunning! STUNNING! It is floral, musky and woody, it’s beautifully opulent and relaxing, just stunning! Etro make the most beautiful perfumes and fragrances, they are fairly limited in terms of availability, but they are totally worth seeking out! A gorgeous candle for the evening!

ESPA-Soothing candle

ESPA ‘Soothing’

In the day time, I tend to burn fresh, zesty fragrances which will keep me on my toes when I’m working, however, in the evening, I find it nice to burn candles which are warmer in scent and a little more soothing ad balancing. I generally have issues sleeping, so I find something a little more calming works a treat for me. I’m currently loving the ESPA Soothing Candle which is filled with notes of Sandalwood, Rose Geranium, Myrrh and Frankincense. Deeply relaxing and interestingly, one of my boyfriends favourite candles, proof that pretty candles aren’t just for us ladies!

 Culti-Candle

Culti Milano ‘Gelsomino’

I first discovered Culti Milano when I was shopping in Harrods, I was attracted to their giant candles which were so delicately branded in elegant pots. There is a lot of great fragrances to choose from in the collection, but I think Culti Milano Gelsomino has to be my favourite, especially for this time of year! It’s filled with notes of jasmine, peony and osmanthus, on a heavy base of cedar wood.  Also, it’s not officially noted, but I’m sure there is some tuberose hidden in there too. It’s a delightful combination!

 Miller-Harris-Lair-De-Rien-candle

Miller Harris ‘L’air De Rien’

Finally, a cult classic! I love Miller Harris L’air De Rien as both a fragrance and a candle, I’m not ashamed to say I own both! This fragrance was gift created as a personal project between Lyn Harris and Jane Birkin, but eventually the two decided to put it into general production and introduce it into the collection. The perfume is inspired by old books, a well worn jacket and her husbands embrace. It contains notes of oak moss, Tunisian neroli, sweet musk, amber and vanilla. It’s wonderfully nostalgic, intellectual and sensual.

So, there we have it, my Spring Candle Edit. Do let me know if you have tried any of these candles or if you want to recommend any of your favourites to me!
