March Favourites

How is it March already!? I honestly believe if this year was a YouTube vid, it would be playing at 2x speed. It has RACED by thus far! March went by in a whirl, we did a lot of DIY at the weekend and my days were filled with cake eating, flatlays and figuring out which Podcast to listen to next…. Keep reading to find out a little more about it all!

Too Faced X Kat Von D Collection

Too Faced X Kat Von D Collection

Regular readers might remember that last month I featured the mini set of this Too Faced X Kat Von D Collection and I loved it so much, I had to get my hands on the Ultimate Collection before it sold out! This set it brilliant, it contains a full sized Too Faced Better than Sex mascara, KVD eyeliner and a joint palettes which is two halves of a heart which joined together with a magnet. Share with your bFF or keep it all for yourself. Either way, it’s bloody brilliant! Also, shout out to Jerrod and Kat for collaborating in this way, it’s pretty unusual to see two brands who should be collaborating, rather than competing, in an over-stuffed industry!

busy skin care

Buly

I have been obsessed with Buly for a good few years now. As soon as I saw it, I fell head-over-heels for their packaging. I mean, just look at it, it’s stunning, it’s historical art on cream! This month, I finally got myself a few things; Matches (which are scented!), face cream and tooth paste. I love the face cream, it’s as lovely on the skin as it is to look at, it contains linden water and sweet almond oil, it applies a little like a cold cream, so I tend to use it at night or no-make up days rather than under my cosmetics. I think I’m going to have to treat myself to the hand cream soon! PS. Follow them on Instagram if you want to some new eye-candy in your feed!

Flamingo Candles

Flamingo Candles

Are you bored of me recommending Flamingo Candles yet? Sorry, but I bloody love them! I love the embellished jars, the playful scents and the fact that they really do fill the room with fragrance. Their new collection features bunnies, mermaids, cupcake sprinkles, moody florals, initials and all sorts of joy! My personal favourites include Mermaid Tears and Bunny Kisses! Who could ask for more?!

Moschino 'Pink Fresh Couture

Moschino ‘Pink Fresh Couture’

For all I care, this Moschino Pink Fresh Couture could smell like bleach and I wouldn’t care. Literally, this bottle is so good, I had to include it for that reason alone, prepare yourself to see if ALL over my Instagram! The good news is, it smells nothing like bleach, instead it contains notes of pink grapefruit, pomegranate, rose, black current, lily of the valley and musk,  it’s a little too fruity-floral for my personal taste (let’s be honest, I’m too old for those kinds of scents) but it is very very pretty and the bottle is cool AF. My personal fave Moschino perfume is the teddy bear in terms of smell, but this bottle is the winner!

Watching

We haven’t had a television for about a year and a half now, so we rely on Netflix and YouTube for our viewing. It’s pretty great to be honest, we watch a lot of serial killer / death row documentaries and box sets. We have watched pretty much every serial killer documentary we can find, so now we are making our way through ‘Autopsy: The Final Hours of…’ which is pretty good. We have also seen the new Netflix series Riverdale which is pretty good, it’s a cool concept too, it’s inspired by Archie Comics, but modern day with a death / murder. Obviously it was the death which attracted me to watching it. Finally, we have also been watching House of Cards, which I’m sure you have all seen, but we didn’t watch it at the time, so we are catching up now and kind of loving it. Probably because there’s a fair few deaths in that too. My Instagram is pink, my heart is black.

not-on-the-high-street-neon-sign-

Neon Sign

I think my favourite blog post of the month has to be this one about my new neon sign! I swear to God, everyone who walks into the house, I lead them into the room and say ‘Look!!! isn’t it amazing?!?!?!’. I might not be able to invite you all into my home to lead you through the rooms, avoiding piles of perfumes and tools (for real, this is my life RN) but I can show you online… and in this day, that’s almost the same. So now it’s your turn ‘Look!!! isn’t it amazing?!?!?!’

Sleek Midas Touch Highlighter

Sleek Midas Touch Highlighter

I have a lot of highlighters in my life and whilst there are plenty that I adore, many of my favourites have a pretty hefty price tag attached to them, which is why I wanted to share one of my favourite highlighter palettes which is also super adorable. It is of course, the Sleek Midas Touch Palette, which contains shades of silver, pale blue, white and pale peach highlighter, they give a super strobing effect and the palette costs £9.99, which is pretty amazing for four generous sized pods. Also, a lot of highlighters have a gold or peach tone to them, which is great, but if you have a super pale skin tone, you will know that some gold highlighters are too dark and almost bronze rather than highlight! Ladies, this one is for you! #TheStruggleIsReal #PaleGirlProblems

Aspinal-of-London-Handbag-mayfAir-style

Aspinal of London Handbag

I have a lot of handbags in my wardrobe, but my current favourite has to be this little Aspinal Of London beauty! I absolutely adore this bag! It can be worn in my hand or over my shoulder (as it has a detachable strap) and it just feels so super luxe and stylish, I can’t get enough! It has a bit of a nautical feel to it, and it reminds me a little of chic women wearing double breasted blazers and tricolour handbags whilst sailing! Don’t tell my other Aspinal Bags, but this one, might be my favourite!

 Kind Bars

Kind Bars

On the days where I am in London at meetings and events, I tend not to get into town until midday (it makes the travel wayyyyy cheaper this way). However, it only leaves me the afternoon to cram in as many engagements as possible. It’s not unusual for me to have breakfast before I leave and then nothing but coffee and the odd slice of cake until I get home at 8pm or later, dreadful right?! I have started putting Kind Bars in my handbag for days like this. Whilst it’s deffo not a substitute for lunch, it’s a million times better than a slice of cake. If you have never tried Kind Bars, now is the time, they are bloody delicious. I honestly hide my stash from my boyfriend as I don’t want to share them as they are so good, personal favourites of mine include Maple Glazed Pecan and Sea Salt and Peanut Butter & Dark Chocolate, but there are so so may great varieties.

Podcasts

If you had asked me a year ago, ‘what podcasts do you listen to?’ I would have laughed and answered disdainfully ‘None’. I honesty thought podcasts were dying out but actually, they are hotter than ever! There’s new and exciting podcasts popping up all the time and I honesty love listening to them whilst I edit photos or commute into and around London. I’m currently loving Missing Richard Simmons which is about the super-camp, super-eccentric and super-inspirational fitness guru. The youngsters may not remember him (hell, I barely do!) but the mini-series is brilliant and really heartwarming. I have also been binge listening Reply All, which is hard to describe without making it sound dreadful, but it’s a show about the Internet and it’s part nerdy, informative, funny and part filled with awesome things that happened online or because of the Internet. Trust me. It’s good! PS. the headphones are by Happy Plugs and they come in every colour of the rainbow, of course, I had to have pink!

Clarins-Lip-Oils

Clarins Lip Oils

I am a long time fan of lip oils, they give that glossy finish (which is never sticky and gets in your hair – gross!) and they hydrate along the way. A LOT of brands have made lip oils, but I think of all my favourite has to be these Clarins Instant Light Comfort Oils. This month they added two new flavours to the collection; Candy and Tangerine. Both are winners, especially for the Summer! I think I like candy the best, but I love tangerine… I’m still deciding! Either way, I’m head over heels for these bad boys!

henry london watch photos

Henry Watches

This month, I collaborated with Henry Watches to create some images for their social media account. I love their watches and I love taking photos, so it was a great project and one I loved doing. In fact, it was so much fun, I ended up taking wayyyyy more photos than I was asked to do. Keep an eye on their Instagram over the next few weeks to see if you can spot my handiwork!

Toasty Bags

Toaster Bags

Ok, so you guys know we are in the middle of house renovations, don’t you? We are still without a fridge, freezer and oven. Weirdly, it’s not as hard as you would think it is, as long as you don’t mind walking to the supermarket every day and eating some questionable food once in a while… Anyway! Without an oven (or grill), there is a lot of things we can’t make; Oven chips,  toasted sandwiches, re-heated pizza, veggie burgers… y’know, all the healthy stuff! Anyway, last week Hayley told me about Toaster Bags and they are a revelation! You put your food in it and pop it in the toaster and boom, it’s basically turns your toaster into a make-shift grill. It’s bloody brilliant! If anyone out there is renovating their house and only has a partial kitchen, I would 100% recommend getting some of these. I think they were £1.25 for 2 bags, but I spent £2.50 and got 4, because I’m WILD!

Kevin Murphy Leave In Repair

Kevin Murphy Leave In Repair

I’m a long-time fan of Kevin Murphy hair care, so when a box of his new collection popped through my letter box this month, I did a bit of a ‘whoop whoop!’. Let me share a some boring info about my hair; it’s coloured (bleached) and naturally wavy. As a result, I have naturally dry hair, which is damaged at the ends thanks to repeated colouring, as for my roots, which tend to be overgrown, they get greasy fast. I tend to favour leave in conditioners as it means I get more control over the product and I can concentrate the product to the mid and ends of my hair. I think we all know what’s coming… I love these leave in conditioners, so much so, that I have one for me and one for my momma, as she’s also a big fan!

 Brita X Morphy Richards Kettle

Brita X Morphy Richards Kettle

I know this sounds crazy, but I am utterly disgusted by limescale. It makes me feel a little bit repulsed when anyone makes me a cup of tea with the last of the kettle water because all I can think is ‘ewwww limescale in my peppermint tea’. This month Brita X Morphy Richards put a big ol’ smile on my face when they sent me a kettle which does all the regular kettle things, as well as filtering water as it goes. Now I can drink my tea, eat my porridge and cook my cous cous without the fear of limescale ruining my experience. Am I showing my age and my OCD-ness with this?!

Oskia Skincare

Oskia Skincare

In terms of skin care, this month I have been using Oskia’s Cleanser and Restoration Oil. What can I say? I’m loving them, the cleanser is somewhere between an oil and a cleansing balm, you apply to dry skin and massage it in. When it hits water it emulsifies and easily washes off. It smells INCREDIBLE (like roses and neroli) and it is super gentle on skin and leaves my skin feeling soft, clean but not striped. I have also been using the Oskia Restoration Oil which is super light and easily absorbed, I have been using it in the day in place of a day cream as I feel like it gives the same level of hydration, but I like the way it makes my skin feel a little more supple and nourished. It’s also fine to combine with make up, which is rare for a face oil. Great products, I’m liking these items so much that I really want to try some more products from the collection!

Peggy Porschen cakes london

Fun Days

I had an impromptu day out with blogger friends this month. I was due to meet Hayley from LBQ in London to take some outfit photos of her and then I was going to head to Oxford Circus / Bond Street to do a little homewares shopping. However, the day ended up being very different to this, we met up with Lex, ate cakes in the spring sun outside Peggy Porschen, went for a roam around the area, took outfit pics of both Hayley and Lex, and then we went to a pub, drank wine and ate chips whilst chatting into the evening. I can’t even begin to share how nice it was to go into London and have a fun afternoon with friends on a week day! I spend at least one or two days in London every week, but my time is usually filled with meetings, press days and events, never just ‘shooting the breeze’ with buddies. Despite effectively taking the day off work, I actually felt like it was really beneficial for my work the rest of the week, I felt rejuvenated and super optimistic. So here’s a little reminder to you all; Take a weekday off, head into London (or wherever you love locally) whilst the flowers are out and before the tubes get hot and disgusting!

Zelens Lipsticks

Zelens Lipsticks

I recently started wearing Zelens Extreme Velvet Lipstick and I am absolutely loving them! They were created by plastic surgeon Dr Marko Len, who creates high performance products with clinically proven results, I have been told their are the ‘last stop before surgery’. Whilst I’m not quite wanting to book in for a face lift or lip fillers, I am always looking for lipsticks which make the most of my pout. I have been wearing ‘Red’ which is a perfect classic red, it has that lipstick smell I love (you know that powdery scent?!) and a matte finish. It’s not drying, it doesn’t drag when you apply and it doesn’t feel uncomfortable. Unlike other lip plumping lipsticks it also doesn’t tingle, it just makes them look nice and full, it’s not a rediculous impact, but it’s good and I love the colour, love the finish. It’s my new go-to red!

Tom-Ford-White-Patchouli.

Tom Ford ‘White Patchouli’

Ahhhh! My love for Tom Ford will never fade! When I first met my boyfriend he wore TF all the time, he alternated between Extreme and Black Orchid, and that’s where my love for the brand began. Tom Ford White Patchouli is right up my street, it’s a beautiful and heady blend of white flowers, patchouli, peony, bergamot, jasmine, rose, coriander and ambrette seed. It’s rich, spicy, woody and floral, it combines feminine florals and vanilla, with masculine notes of spice and woods. It’s technically a womens perfume, but I find it perfectly unisex and just as you would expect from Tom Ford, it’s very sexy! PS. I got this bottle from Fragrance Direct where it was marginally cheaper than it is everywhere else, well worth checking out!

L'occitane Almond Shower Oil

L’occitane Almond Shower Oil

I got a bottle of L’occitane Almond Shower Oil just before Christmas and I can honestly say it’s brought me three months of joy. I could easily write a whole blog post all about how much I love this product, but that would probably be boring, so I will keep it brief! In short, it applies like an oil and then when it hits water it turns kind of milky and easily rinses off, leaving your skin soft, clean and nourished. It smells incredible and it’s literally my favourite shower product, I am obsessed!!!! OBSESSED!!!

win Ray-ban Sunglasses sunglass shop

Ray-ban Sunglasses + win a pair for yourself!!!

FACT: I’m a total sunglasses addict. I can’t even begin to explain how many pairs I have and I am always looking for new pairs to add to my collection. However, as much as I have fancy frames and playful details, my staple is a pair of classic Ray-ban Wayfarers. They are the best shape; Flattering, timeless and cool. I honestly believe Wayfarers suit everyone in the world, men, women, children and every face shape and style. Which is why I have teamed up with Sunglasses Shop to launch a giveaway on my Twitter to let someone win this pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers, just in time for Spring. And on that note, the longer my blog goes on, the more and more amazed and thankful that so many of you stop by and read. It’s really cool, so giveaways like this mean a lot to me, as I love being able to surprise people with treats. And a giant thank you to Sunglasses Shop for being so generous!

So, there we have it, my favourite things from March, I hope you enjoyed! Let me know in the comments if you have anything you have loved this month or if you have tried any of the things I love!
