Today I want to chat about the Chanel Deauville Tote bag, I LOVE this bag, and over the years it’s actually become one of my most-used Chanel Bags!!  IT’s funny, as the Chanel tote bag I ALWAYS lusted after was the Chanel GST and I ended up with both the Chanel Deauville tote bag AND the Chanel GST and guess which one I use the most… yep! The Chanel Deauville bag! Is that not crazy!?!?! I LOVE this bag for it’s super casual vibes, it’s lightweight practicality, it’s two-ways to wear and it’s perfect size. It’s honestly become one of my most beloved Chanel Bags and I use it all the time! The Chanel Deauville Bag Is Roomy!

I need to be honest here… this was never a bag I swooned over and dreamed of, it just popped up on one of my favourite pre-loved designer stores and I knew I would get a lot of use out of it. PLUS it was a great price so I snapped it up! However, over the years, it’s become one of my most-used and most-loved bags. Partly because it’s light weight and so darn practical, but also because it’s nice and roomy and I can literally fit everything inside from a laptop to my camera, make up to books. I could probably even use it as an overnight bag if I really tried hard! It’s wonderfully roomy and it’s strong and sturdy too. Plus because it’s canvas, it actually feels lighter than the jumbo classic flap even when it’s stuffed full of my junk! Crazy right?!

Two Ways To Wear

The Chanel Deauville tote bag can be worn two ways, over your shoulder – even with a bulky coat and in your hand as a top-handle bag. On the inside it’s got one main pocket and one small zipped section. It’s also got two small slip pockets for your phone or whatever you fancy. As for security, it just has a popper a the top, but if you are wearing it over your shoulder it feels fairly secure but you do need to be a little careful with it if you are in central London and have it open with your purse on show!

PreLoved Chanel Deauville Tote Bag Price

I have the 2012 Chanel Deauville Tote Bag which has just one strap, the more modern ones have two, one which is shorter, more structured top handle and a second which is a full chain strap which hangs down. Personally I like mine as I think they tend to be lighter, thanks to just having one strap and less chain, plus because I wear it over my shoulder a lot, the rigid straps don’t get in my way when I carrying it. However, I do think the two straps look really cool. The Deauville tote bags vary in prices, anywhere from around £2000 to around £3100. I paid just over £1000 for mine on the preloved market, which I was of course, THRILLED with!! Prices of the vintage / second hand / preloved Chanel Deauville bags really vary depending on condition, rarity and desirability of the print.

What Fits Inside The Chanel Deauville Tote Bag

The Chanel Deauville tote is wonderfully roomy! I love a tote bag for this reason. I can fit my MacBook Air inside, as well as make-up, purse, phone, keys, phone charger, small compact camera, cereal bars… it really does fit a LOT inside!!! I love this bag! It’s the perfect day bag, it’s also great for commuting, travelling and so much more. Plus it’s casual, but it also can look fairly smart, so no matter where you are going… it kinds works!

Chanel Deauville Quality Review…

I usually go for the Chanel Bags in leather, as I think of them as better quality and harder wearing, but actually, the thick canvas fabric is super hardwearing and still looks great after YEARS of heavy use!! I have had this bag repaired once as I think I overstuffed it, but it was just a small repair and cost £55 done via Chanel themselves. Which I was really happy with. Also, they mentioned that they wouldn’t have charged me, but because my bag is over 15 years old, that’s why they charged. But the overall quality is amazing, the canvas is lovely and thick and seems really robust and hasn’t really stained or marked. The lining is still looking good, the zip is in good working order. It’s actually looking incredible for a bag of it’s age and the only reason it needed a repair was because I use this bag SO much and the eyelet had started to work it’s way away from the canvas. But it’s all fixed now! Oh and the hardware is still shiny silver and not tarnished or smelling weird at all (sometimes old metal has a horrid smell and this smells GREAT!)

Chanel Deauville Bag Repair

I recently had to get my bag repaired because I have used it so much that the eyelets started to wiggle free from the fabric. I used it for a while as it got worse and eventually I took it into Chanel to see if they could help me. Since my bag was made in 1996, it is more than 20 years old and therefore Chanel could and would fix it for me, but it would cost £55. Which I was more than happy with. They also never asked me for proof of purchase or if it was bought from Chanel or pre-loved, which was really nice, they just looked at it, told me it was a beautiful bag and kindly offered to fix it for me. I can honestly say the customer service was wonderful and they did the repair really fast too. It can back looking better than ever and I’m super happy with the service! Thanks Chanel!!

Cheapest Big Chanel Bag?

In my opinion the Chanel Deauville bag is the cheapest LARGE SIZE Chanel bag, so if you are a large bag lady like I am, this is one to consider because you will get all your stuff in, without breaking the bank! Also, not only is this one of the most affordable large style bags, but it’s also brilliant because it is made of a thick hardwearing canvas so it isn’t as heavy as bags like the Chanel GST.
