Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette
I mentioned the Too Faced Sweet Peach Lip Gloss Oils a few weeks ago, but now I need to tell you about the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette! I was first released as a limited edition palette before Christmas, but it sold out SO FAST and everyone was so desperate to get it, they had to make more and release it worldwide. It smells like peach and it contains beautiful and feminine shades of nudes, peaches, pinks, browns and smoky tones. I can usually be found wearing liquid eyeliner, so I tend to select nudes and pink tones so they don’t compete with my eyeliner. This palette is right up my street!
Burt’s Bees Lipsticks
I’m guessing most of you have sore and dry winter lips right now?! Am I right!? Me too! If that’s the case, then these Burt’s Bees Lipsticks might be your secret weapon for this time of year. They are super moisturising and creamy and will keep your lips looking good on the inside and outside. The blogosphere have gone nuts for these bad boys! Whilst they are a little sheer for my personal taste, I can’t deny, they are super hydrating and perfect for days when I can’t face wearing a drying matte finish lipstick.
Jo Malone London The Bloomsbury Set
Regular readers might remember I featured the Jo Malone London The Bloomsbury Set Collection after the press launch a couple of months ago. It is a collection inspired by the artists and creatives who lived at the Charleston House, Sussex. It was here they created by day and drank, debated and danced into the night. The Collection explores different facets of the house and the times of the day, from the Garden Lilies in the pond at dawn, to the Whiskey & Cedarwood of the evenings entertainment. All you really need to know is that the collection is out now, it’s amazing and you need to go buy it ASAP, because it’s limited edition. My personal favourite from the collection is Whiskey & Cedarwood.
Ciate Dewy Stix
My name is kirsty and I am a highlighter addict. Most of my highlighters tend to be a gold, peach or silver tone, but this Ciate Dewy Stick is a little different. It doesn’t really have a colour to it, instead it just seems to swipe over your skin and leave a luminous finish. It’s hard to describe, but it’s almost like a clear highlighter which adds a pearlescent finish to your natural skin tone. Much like it says on the box, this Ciate Dewy stick does leave your skin looking dewy and radiant. A softer finish than most highlighters, but still really effective. I’m tempted to say when the strobing trend dies down, this Dewy Stix will still have a place in our make up bags.
Urban decay All Nighter Setting Spray
The latest release from Urban decay is their All Nighter Setting Spray. Once you have applied your make up, simple mist over and move on with your life. I have only used it once and so far, so good (I usually avoid setting sprays as they can often feel like hairspray on your face, am I right?) It’s getting killer reviews and I’m really excited to use it this summer. There is nothing worse than that feeling of your make up melting off your face on the tube. I’ll try and remember to check back in when I have used this product more, but if you are passing an Urban Decay store, pop in and give it a blast for yourself. It’s one of those products which is a great one to try out in the shop it’s a spritz bottle and super hygienic (am I the only one who gets freaked out at people using the tester mascara and lipsticks in store?!)
There has been rumours of this product being released for a while now and I have to admit, Benefit Galifornia is very special! Firstly, it smells like summer holidays, I’m talking coconut suncream and warm beaches. It’s totally addictive. Secondly, it’s a beautiful shade of shimmery peach blush, it gives a girly, feminine flush with luminous sparkle which makes you glow like a Californian beach babe!
Bobbi Brown Remedies
I always think of Bobbi Brown and picture their make-up, but actually, their skin care collection is bloomin’ great too! The new collection of Bobbi Brown Remedies provided targeted solutions so many skin issues, including dryness, cracking, redness, dull, loss of elasticity and blemishes… Personally I have no.93 which helps with elasticity. I figured I’m not getting any younger and my skin has felt really tight with all the central heating, it’s helping to lock in moisture and make it feel generally more supple and comfortable, even if the heating has been on for hours at a time. So far so good, well worth checking out!
Too Faced X Kat Von D
Another release from Too Faced, but this time, it’s a collaboration between Too Faced and Kat Von D. These two brands and BFF’s but like chalk and cheese! They both have alternative origins, but where Too Faced is pink, cute and girly, Kat Von D has a harder edge, more goth girl vibe. This collection is called ‘Better Together’, the best of both brands, perfectly complimenting each other; the KVD eyeliner with the TF mascara. Adorable! This set contains the iconic lip products from KVD and Highlighter and blusher from Too Faced, all packaged up into a cute heart shaped pouch, one side is pink, the other is black… of course!
YSL Touche Éclat Le Teint Foundation
Ok, so this isn’t new, but it’s new-to-me and I think the reason I hadn’t used it before was because previously, the palest shade wasn’t quite pale and ‘cool’ enough for my skintone (I’m using shade B10). Since getting a sample of this YSL Touche Éclat Le Teint Foundation it has fast become my favourite base, it’s light and oil-free, but still gives a good coverage. It has a semi-matte finish with a slight pearlescent finish, giving a healthy appearance without being too shiny and too dewy. It’s doesn’t slip around if you aren’t using a primer and it just looks really good and natural. I’m a bit over dewy-looking foundations, but matte foundations are often a little drying, so this one is the perfect balance!
Kiehl’s Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream
I have been really liking Kiehl’s skin care recently, especially the moisturiser, I swear my pot of Ultra Facial Cream has been on-the-go for months, although it will probably go down quickly now that my boyfriend has started using it. Since my man has siphened off my old pot of Kiehl’s face cream, I have moved onto a slightly more opulent version of their skin care, their new Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream. This bad boy contains Manuka Honey with Korean Red Ginseng Root and it’s overall feel is a little richer and more than the classic, it’s helping my winter skin a treat and it feels great. It feels like a treat, where as the classic feels a little more ‘no nonsense’. well worth the investment!
