An Afternoon of Macaroons and Sucré with Juicy Couture

Juicy Couture Sucré

Last week, I was invited to spend the day (and night) with Juicy Couture to celebrate the launch of their new fragrance, Sucré. As you might have already guessed, the perfume is inspired by Sugar, but not the sickly sweet candy store-kind, instead it’s rich and decadent, like cream cakes and delicate treats you might find in Paris. Rich with vanilla and filled with playful, girly, flirty notes of peach, almond cream, cacao and red berries. Imagine a fun, flirty perfume which smells like sweet macaroons, fruity jam, creme cakes and beautiful blooms on a spring day. As with all Juicy Couture fragrance, it’s young, feminine and addictive, it’s also made using great quality ingredients so whilst it’s playful, it’s also elegant.

Macaroon Making

I packed up my suitcase and headed off to London, our first port of call was a special ‘Sucré’ macaroon making class. We drank martini’s whilst learning how to mix meringues into macaroon shells. Then we had that magical ‘Here’s one I made earlier moment’ as crates upon crates of pre-made and baked macaroon shells came out. We set about the task of piping the inside with buttercream so we could assemble them together. I was sat next to London Beauty Queen, which was probably a bad idea (although not really as she’s hilariously funny) as we are both enablers. The next thing I knew we had a ‘make one, eat one’ policy going on. Before I knew it we had been making macaroons for hours and I was feeling a little worse for wear!

Rosewood

We all headed into cabs off to the beautiful Rosewood Hotel where we found out rooms for the night. On each of our beds, we were treated to surprises of perfume, monogrammed pillow cases and Juicy Couture Tracksuits so we could relax in style! Fun fact, I actually stayed at the Rosewood hotel when I was a teenager, it’s such a beautiful hotel and it’s always reminds me of visiting the big bad city years before I ever dreamed of moving here. We had a few hours to chill out, I spent most of it in LBQ’s room gossiping before having a quick bath and donning a dinner dress and grabbing a Chanel bag ready for dinner. Our dinner started with rosé champagne, of course followed by salads and fillet steak. The tables were covered in the most beautiful pink roses and at our table we all had champagne truffles at our place setting. What can I say, there was champagne, truffles, roses and candies everywhere. The dessert was insane, it was topped with a sugar ribbon bow and cotton candy which melted when you sprayed it with pink citric syrup! As if that wasn’t enough, after desert, we had truffles, handmade marshmallows and jellies. I pretty much rolled into bed that night, clutching a bunch of roses from the table setting and a smelling like I had spent the day in the worlds greatest cake and candy store.

A huge ‘Thank you’ to the Juicy Couture team for having me, it was the most fun day and I loved learning al about the new fragrance. If you are looking for a new super-luxe, adorably flirty and fabulous perfume, then you need to sample Juicy Couture Sucré, it’s available from Debenham’s and Juicy Couture stores, it’s really rather wonderful!

It was so much fun, but I didn’t really make them, I just watched someone do the hard part and then I stuck them together at the end! Still super fun tho!
