Healthy Hair & Nails Start From The Inside

I’ve always been a picky eater, and when I say picky, I mean really picky… I’m cheese / seafood / poultry / fish / lamb-free, as well as avoiding a whole host of other good stuffs which I’m sure most of you would consider pretty standard! I’m not ‘vegetarian’, ‘vegan’, ‘gluten free’ or any other umbrella term which would make it easier to explain, I’m just picky. As a result, I have always hard weak nails and fairly fine hair which has a tendency to fall out. It does make me worry that my bones may not be the strongest either, which are only going to weaken with age and since I’m also pretty clumsy, isn’t great news! When Silidyn asked me if I would be interested in trailing their supplement, I jumped at the chance. I figured any challenge which makes me healthier, is always a good thing. Besides, I have always dreamed of having naturally long, strong nails!

So, a little about Silidyn, it is a supplement designed to strengthen your bones, connective tissue, hair and nails. It can be added to hot or cold drinks and you just need 8-10 drops a day, you should start to see results after about 4 weeks, but possibily sooner. I have been taking Silidyn for about 8 weeks now. Silidyn contains OSA, MSM, Boron, Zinc, Maritime pine bark extract, Magnesium and selenium. Taste wise, I was expecting it to taste metallic or bitter, but actually, it’s barely detectable in a glass of water.

The Results…

As mentioned, Silidyn has been created to strengthen bones, connective tissue, hair and nails. Whilst I haven’t been for any before-and-after X-rays to test my bones, I can share some interesting findings on my hair and nails. First up, my nails are way stronger than ever, they feel so much thicker and they are less flexible. I have always had really bendy nails which feel paper-thin, they feel much sturdier now and they have been splitting less at the tips too (a little like getting split ends in your hair, but split nails).

After taking Silidyn for about four weeks, I noticed a dramatic difference in my nails, but less so in my hair, I was hoping my thin locks would magically transform into a Serena Van Der Woodsen-style mane, but alas, it looked and felt pretty much the same. However, I did realise there had been one major difference; hair loss. I have always ‘moulted’, I find hairs on my clothing, pillow and boyfriend. When I wash my hair, I loose a hefty clump and I have been known to clog both drains and hoovers. Glamorous but true. However, over the past month, the amount of hair loss has been way less, like dramatically less, I have found barely any stray hairs on my jumpers, pillows and the shower hasn’t needed to be unclogged for weeks. It drives me mad loosing so much hair, but it’s been this way ever since I can remember, whilst my hair isn’t looking very different now, I can’t help but wonder if it will look dramatically thicker in 6-12 months time after it’s had a chance to grow a little more. I can only assume with the difference Silidyn has made to my hair and nails, it has surely had a positive effect on my bones and connective tissue too, which is reassuring as I start to get older. SILIDYN® is priced at £19.95 and is currently available online at www.riohealth.co.uk and for such a small expenditure, it’s well worth trying out, I’m super happy with my stronger nails and it’s so nice not to have to pick hairs off my jumper throughout the day!

This post was written in collaboration with Silidyn and as always, all opinions are my own.

I’m exactly the same when it comes to eing picky with my food. Am constantly being told I need to take something to make sure I’m still getting everything I should be.

My nails have always been one of my main concerns, and I end up putting a thickening polish on every single day. Will definitely be giving this ago as I can see it being so helpful in the future.

Thank you for writing this post, you may have given me the answer I was looking for!
