What To Buy A Luxury Loving Mum

Mums work mega hard, so if you can’t spoil them a Christmas, when can you?! My mum tends to be rather vocal about what she likes (and sometimes what she doesn’t!) so I thought it was about time I did a gift guide for a luxury loving mum… here goes!

Jo Malone London Shower Oil

I bought my mother a bottle of this last year and she loved it so much she has bought another two bottles since! For those who have never tried a shower oil before, the Jo Malone London one is a delight! It’s rich and nourishing on the skin, until it hits water and turns milky to rinse off! Leaving your skin clean, conditioned and smelling incredible!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Beauty Set

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is one of the worlds most loved beauty products, in fact, it’s so iconic, they have created other items to sit along side their classic cream. Designer Sunglasses

A few years ago, my mum mentioned how much she would love a pair of Prada Sunglasses, but she couldn’t face the idea of loosing them or getting them sandy and scratched on holiday. I reminded her that she rarely lost anything and she could just wear older sunnies on the beach, then we changed the conversation. A few weeks later, I gave her a pair of Prada’s and my-oh-my did she love them! Legit, if your mum doesn’t already own a pair of beautiful designer sunglasses, buy her a pair! Prada are always a good idea, as are Dior and these Dolce & Gabbana frames are also stunning!

Boden Cashmere Jumper

A cashmere jumper is a always a good idea, but you have to be careful where you buy it, as not all high street stores use a good quality of cashmere. There’s no point buying a cashmere jumper if it isn’t super soft and snugly! I am a huge fan of Boden Cashmere as it is wonderfully soft and cosy, it’s like wearing a hug! Believe me, your mum will love this Boden Cashmere jumper, and FYI if you are stuck for what to buy your dad, they have a great mens version too!

Kevin Murphy Hair Care

My mum has been using only Kevin Murphy Hair Care on her hair for about 5 years now, she refuses to use anything else as it makes her hair healthier and glossier than it’s been since she was a teenager (or so she tells me!). It’s not the cheapest, but it is amazing and the Hydrate Me range is especially good for older ladies who have slightly drier hair. Kevin Murphy is a salon brand, so you might be best buying it in store rather than online!

Rathbournes Set of Candles

My mum burns a lot of candles at home, she loves simple white pillar candles as well as scented candles presented in a beautiful glass jar. Whilst she loves a good 40-80 hour scented candle because it lasts for weeks, there’s something so indulgent about having a gift set of scented candles so you can choose the fragrance as the mood takes you! I love these collection by Rathbournes as it contains three beautiful candles; Dublin Tea Rose, Cedar & Clove and White Pepper and Honeysuckle. My personal favourite is Dublin Tea Rose as it smells like macaroons and smoky tea!

My mum is a huge fan of Clarins make-up (let’s be honest, who isn’t?!) and I always see her eyeing up the eyeshadow palettes. A lot of mums tend to avoid eyeliner, as they can be quite a harsh look and instead opt for softer eyeshadows which can be beautifully blended and built-up. Hiho Silver Pearl Necklace

I don’t know about your mum, but my mum keeps her jewellery minimal, the one thing she does adore though is a set of pearl necklaces and a pearl bracelet. I have a fair few pearls In my collection, from vintage to Chanel, but the ones I would recommend for an elegant mum, have to be this Hiho Silver Graduated Pearl Necklace. Hiho Silver is an equestrian brand, so everything has a nice country side feel to it. These pearls are high quality and beautifully designed. I can’t imagine what stylish mum wouldn’t adore these!
