Dear Rose launched just a few years ago, but their founder, Chantal Roos, has an extensive background in fragrance, creating and developing some of the worlds’ best known and loved fragrances for brands like Jean-Paul Gaultier, YSL and Issey Miyake. Dear Rose is a passion project for Chantal and her musician daughter, Alexandra. Together they created the brand and enlisted master perfumers to work with them. Their latest fragrance, Nymphessence is created by Fabrice Pellegrin, who has produced masterpieces for Diptyque, Jo Malone, Hermes and Valentino.
So, let’s chat about Nymphessence shall we? Firstly, the bottle features a drawing by French Artist, Christophe Brunnquell, elevating the simple, elegant bottle to something more contemporary. The fragrance itself is wonderfully simple and fresh, it has a summer travel feel to it; fresh breezes, luxury hotels and clean linen, mixed with fruits and florals. From the very first spritz Nymphessence feels very fresh with crisp Green Accords and spicy Pink Pepper, very quickly the florals are revealed, Magnolia, Freesia and Orange Blossom, supported by a base of sensual musks and amber woods. This perfume was made for summer days, it makes me think January holidays to the sunshine; a beautiful hotel suite, just washed hair, fresh flowers in every room and serenity. Nymphessence is the life I dream of living!
