Five Awesome Strobing Sticks
The other day I got out of the shower, got dressed, put on my moisturiser and the absentmindedly reached for a strobing stick and swiped it over my cheeks and brow bone. When I popped to the bathroom later I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and thought ‘damn! My cheekbones look good’. That’s when I remembered I had used a strobing stick earlier and everything started to make a little more sense. That’s the thing about these highlighters, they are quick and easy to use and give great results to minimal make-up looks as well as heavier looks. Want to know my current favourites?
Revlon Photoready Insta-fix Highlighting Stick
I discovered this Revlon Photoready Insta-fix Highlighting Stick by chance, which is crazy as it is now one of my favourites! It has an amazing cream-to-powder formula and it comes in two gorgeous and super shimmery shades. It’s funny, I never think of Revlon as one of my go-to brands, but everything I own by them, I really love.
Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlighter
Holy Smokes! This Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlighter is shimmer-tastic, it’s got a stunning hi-shine finish and really does reflect every shred of light, it’s pearlescent almost to the point of being holographic! Perfect for the cheekbones and brow bones, but a little too intense to use down my nose and around my cupids bow. For hi-shine, hi-shimmer fans, this is a stunner and it believe me, it will last you for months and months!
Barry M Illuminating Strobe Cream
I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure Barry M were one of the first budget brands to release a strobing stick. It was a bit of a lightbulb moment and instantly everyone was obsessed with them! These Barry M Illuminating Strobe Creams come in two shades and have a rounded tip so that they can be applied with precision. They are subtle compared to some of the other strobing sticks, but I love them regardless as sometimes, a little highlighter is all you need! And price-wise, they are a steal!
Soap & Glory Love At First Blush Highlight and Cheek Sculpt
Soap & Glory’s Love At First Blush is part highlighter and part blusher. It glides over skin to give you a soft, rosy glow with a radiant sculpting shimmer. Perfect for those who are new to highlighters and also great for minimal make-up days as it gives you a two-in-one effect in a jiffy! Soap & Glory make a lot of iconic products in their collection, but this would actually be in my top five products, I don’t think enough people realise how good it is!
Iconic London Strobing Stick
Iconic London have taken the beauty-world by storm with their brushes and contour kits, but one of my favourite products by them is this Strobing Stick. Kim Kardashian is a big fan of their products and this highlighter gives a wonderful glow which is blendable and buildable. It comes in three shades; Original, Shine and Glow, I have the original, but I love it so much, I’m tempted to invest in the other two!
So there we have it, Five Awesome Strobing Sticks… have you tried any of these yet?!
