There have been a lot of changes at dunhill under the latest creative director, John Ray, most noticeably has been the dunhill ICON fragrance collection which has captured the imagination and hearts of men everywhere. The first fragrance dunhill ICON sold out almost instantly and the second fragrance, dunhill ICON Absolute was also a roaring success. dunhill ICON Elite is the latest fragrance to be added into the collection.

I have blogged about the original dunhill ICON fragrance many times, it’s a real favourite of my boyfriends’ and I too, love it when he wears it. It’s fresh, zesty, woody and aromatic. dunhill ICON Absolute is richer also featured notes of black pepper and bergamot, but it was darker and smokier with notes of oud, rose, tobacco and saffron. Both editions I adore, in fact, they are so special that I have become a real fan of dunhill fragrances and their new launches are something I really look forward too. Which is pretty impressive for a fragrance collection which I can’t even wear myself!
So, let’s chat about dunhill ICON Elite shall we? Needless to say, I love it. It’s another wonderful fragrance, it opens with a real smoky citrus scent or bergamot and the merest hint of zesty lime. Very quickly the spicy black pepper is revealed which is dominant with just a hint of cardamom giving it a little extra ‘something something’ and the vetiver is exposed which gives the fragrance a dry, herby, grassy feel which the blue sage hides behind. Much like the other two dunhill fragrances, ICON Elite is another power scent, it’s makes a statement without causing offence, it’s masculine and confident without being arrogant. It’s inspired by the modern British gentleman, who loves the finer things in life and divides his time between town and country, it has a air of country pursuits at the weekend, with city job in the week. It reminds me of a hot boss you secretly have a crush on, he’s a real grown up who has his life in order, he’s also about 15 years older than you and somehow, he’s super sexy in his suit with his slightly receding hairline. To all the men reading this, make sure you try this out, it’s amazing, to all the ladies, buy this for your man this christmas!
