Pink Door Makeover
The last few days have been insane! I have been at London Fashion Week and my schedule has been crazy. I have been to so many amazing shows and presentations and any moments in-between, I have been hanging out with friends in blogger lounges. I have even filmed some interviews with designers, which was a little nerve-wracking as I am not comfortable having my photos taken, let alone talking and asking designers questions on camera. It’s been a lot of fun but I decided to take today off because I was exhausted! I literally slept for 10 hours straight last night and when I woke up at 11am this morning, I felt a little disorientated and dehydrated from the extended sleep! We had a great day though and it feels so good to be able to catch up on a bit of blogging and crack on with the renovations.
Back To Reality
Instead of doing fashionable things today, I put on a pair of paint stained leggings and scruffy old tee shirt and gave our door a final coat of paint. We have spent the last few weeks working on this door as it has gone from being a semi-boarded up grotty old door to being pretty cute (see proof of the original state here, at this stage we had already replaced the brass as the handle had snapped off and the letterbox had been boarded up!). We stripped off the old paint, changed the letterbox, door knob, pull and locks. Then we primed & undercoated it and finally painted it with Valspar Outdoor Wood Paint (which we got mixed up in store as I wanted the perfect shade of pastel pink). After the first coat of pink paint, we used a little lot of Wood Filler to fill in the holes from where it has been boarded over, then we gave it a light sanding down and painted a few more coats. Finally, I couldn’t resist adding on the tiny letters to read ‘There’s No Place Like Home…’
