Illamasqua Lip Lure
Illasmasqua’s branding is pretty dramatic, think performance artists, drag, goth and plenty of drama. They use heavy pigments, daring colours and always break new ground when it comes to innovation. They are just about to release a marbled lipstick in pink and purple which the beauty industry is already going ga-ga over and I hear they have some other amazing products scheduled for release soon too. Right now, I’m chatting about their Lip Lures and woozer, if you like to overdraw your lips and hit the world with a powerful pair of lips, this is the one for you. It’s not for the faint hearted, but if you can handle it’s power, it’s bloody brilliant! My personal favourite shade is Sorbet (which I got from ASOS Beauty), it’s a fiery red and makes my lips look huge, it’s so rich I can overdraw my lips using this and no lipliner.
Too Faced Melted
Oh how I love Too Faced Liquid Lipsticks! They come in a variety of finishes; classic, metal, chocolate and now matte. If truth is told, I love them all! They have great staying powder, a longer formula and the colours are bold, bright and fabulous. And to answer the question on everyones lips… yes, the Chocolate colours do smell of chocolate! Amazing! I feel like I always talk about these Too Faced Melted lipsticks, so I don’t want to drone on too much about them as you must all know I love them by now!
Ciate Liquid Velvet
Ah Ciate! At first we fell in love with them for their nail polishes and then they blew us all away with their make-up collection! These Ciate Liquid Velvet Lipsticks are rich in colour and give a perfect matte finish. Unlike most matte lipsticks, these ones contain hyaluronic acid so they keep your lips moisturised. PS. Look out for shade ‘Chatterbox’ it’s the most beautiful dark magenta / plum purple! On a side note, if you haven’t tried any Ciate make-up yet, go try it out in store, it’s really good!
Smashbox Always On
Smashbox nailed it with these Always On Liquid Lipsticks. Firstly the wand is curved and pointed which creates the perfect Cupid’s bow with literally no effort. It applies with a real ‘wet’ finish but quickly dries into a very lush velvet finish. Long lasting, great colours… Brilliant! Smashbox always deliver amazing products and this lipstick is a huge favourite of mine!
Elizabeth Arden Liquid Assets
I blogged about these liquid lipsticks a few weeks ago and I still love them! They have more of a glossy finish, without being a lipgloss (no stickiness either). They slightly stain lips and just give a really juicy finish which is perfect for every day. Out of the six, I would say these are the most ‘hi-shine’, however, they still pack a punch when it comes to colour. Also, they are probably the least maintenance in terms of wear off, it’s quite an easy and gradual wear.
MUA Luxe Lip Velvet
If you are looking for a great budget liquid lipstick, then my best find is these MUA Luxe Lip Velvets. They give a lovely matte finish without drying out your lips. The shades are really cool too, with a black, blue, plum and purple, as well as nude, brown, red and pink. I love their hard-to-find shades and their price point, however, there is only one shade of red in this collection and for me, that’s just not enough.
