Beauty: Five Amazing Highlighters

Five Amazing Highlighters

For real, I don’t know what I did before I discovered highlighters and contour powders! I don’t have perfect bone structure, nor do I have skin which glows and radiates health, I guess I just walked around with chubby cheeks and sallow skin! Well, hopefully it wasn’t quite so horrific, but since I discovered the power of highlighter, I haven’t looked back! I had a tough time narrowing down this post to just five amazing highlighters. Wanna know my faves?!

Becca-Cosmetics-X-Jaclyn-Hill-Champagne-Pop

Becca Cosmetics X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop

This Becca Cosmetics X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Highlighter is iconic. There is a reason people go nuts over it and that’s because it’s fabulous! The most perfect shade of powdered, shimmering gold. It’s not the cheapest highlighter in town, but it’s definitely worth it if you fancy treating yourself!

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette

Legit, this Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette has been all over Instagram and I mean, ALL over instagram. It’s just a hop, skip and a regram away from being this years version of the H&M Marble tray. Why do we all love this palette so much? Well, firstly it’s unique with the shades of the powders, secondly, it’s great value, 4 great shades in one stunning palette. Shade 1 is for under your brows, shade 2 is for your cheekbones, 3 is for your nose and shade 4 is perfect for your cupids bow, but you can have a play around with them.

Barry M Illuminating Light Me Up Highlighter

If you want the shimmer and shine, but you are a little cash-poor, then Barry M is the best place go to. They have a few highlighters and illuminators to choose from, but my personal favourites are the Strobe Creams and Light Me Up Highlighter. It’s hard to choose favourites as Light Me Up is a fluid so you can mix it with your foundation for a subtle all over glow, or you could concentrate it onto your cheek and brow bones by dabbing it on. Where as the Strobe Creams are a little more potent, slightly lighter in shade and have a little more luminosity to them, however the Light Me Up Highlighter is a really lovely texture to work with and wear, so I think out of the two, this is my favourite.

Nude By Nature Touch Of Glow Highlighter Stick

Nude By Nature are a relatively new-to-me brand and their Touch Of Glow Highlighter Stick is one of my favourite products by them. This stick comes in three shades; Champagne, Bronze and Rose, but my favourite is Champagne. It’s a beautiful shade, it’s creamy and gives a wonderfully luminous finish. It’s my favourite for on-the-go top ups as you just swipe it over your face and blend slightly with fingers. It’s also great for those more precise places like under the arch of brows.

Rodial Instaglam Compact review

Rodial Instaglam Compact

Rodial are known for their highlighting and contouring products, in fact, the Kardashians are known to be huge fans, Kim and Kylie in particular. I could go on and on about how wonderful this highlighter is; silky textured, pearlescent finish, lightweight, long wearing… but quite frankly, if the Queens of Contouring are fans, you know it’s amazing!

Have you tried any of these highlighters? If so, which are your favourites and let me know if you have any highlighter recommendations!
