In review…

Like all Penhaligon’s fragrances can Endymion Concentré is unisex, but has has been created with men in mind, just as Luna was created for women. I have worn the perfume myself as well as given it to my boyfriend to wear. Endymion Concentré bursts open with an aquatic mix of smoky bergamot, herby sage and classic lavender at this point it sits far better on his skin and it has a much more ‘masculine feel’ to it. The heart is filled with rich, textured suede notes which beautifully mingle with the smoky notes of the bergamot. As for the geranium, it adds a freshness to it which on his skin, reminds me of spas and mens grooming salons, on me, it’s just got a fresh floral feel to it. At the base you will find an intense mix of leather, incense and warm, spicy nutmeg. As it dries down, maybe after 30 minutes, on my skin it warms up and becomes quite smoky, deep, incense and almost sweetens up to give it amber style tones. It has a richness and a spice to it, reminding me of exotic spice markets in Marrakech and it almost smells like there might be a hint of rose and orange blossom in there too. On his skin, it is a much fresher scent, it feels more aquatic and the prominent notes are bergamot, lavender and leather. On my skin, it lasts all day long and becomes rich, heady and exotic, it’s fabulous, powerful and confident. On his skin, it only lasts a few hours but it’s much fresher, filled with water notes of herbs, citrus and soft leather. I’m not sure why, but this fragrance is completely different on both of our skins and it lasts a completely different amount of time too. It’s dark and moody on my skin, light and fresh on his. I love it on him, it’s beautiful, classic and clean on  him, but it doesn’t last as long as he would like. On my skin, it’s the polar opposite. Also, I’m not sure if I am meant to do this, but I wore it combined with Luna, (a spray of each) and I absolutely adored the two worn together. Luna adds a bright freshness to the exotic darkness and becomes a much more complex fragrance, really complimenting each other, giving it much more life and excitement! Penhaligon’s Endymion Concentré is well worth trying out, but don’t be put off by the idea of it being for men. Take your man into the shop and try it out on you both and see who it fits the best and report back to me!

Penhaligon’s Endymion Concentré is out now and it can be found at Penhaligon’s.
