In Review…
Last year I had the pleasure of meeting Jo Malone herself and learning all about her new brand, Jo Loves. She has a beautiful shop, a stunning fragrance and candle collection and some groundbreaking concepts to go with it. In fact, she even made me my very own Candle Shot in her Candle Shot Studio, it was pretty exciting! Since then, I have been obsessed with her products and cherish everything I own by her! This June sees the launch of her latest fragrance, Jo Loves Mandrine which is an explosion of bitter orange, summer delight! At the top of the fragrance we have a heavy hit of bitter orange which is blended with petitgrain (one of Jo’s personal favourite fragrance notes), bergamot and lemon tree leaf. Together it’s a citrus explosion with orange very much at the forefront. As always with citrus fragrances, the top quickly lifts off to reveal herby notes of thyme, parsley and star anise. At this point, the orange still lingers, but it’s much softer, warmer and sweeter, perhaps it’s the amber notes of Ambroxan and Benzoin (Benzoin is my favourite resin, just do you all know!). Jo Loves Mandrine is punchy and citrus based, it makes me think of hot summers, dry land and fresh, juicy fruits picked straight from the tree. It’s fabulous, carefree, bright, hot and oh-so-zesty! Jo Malone is the Queen of Cologne and Mandrine is her Summer scent.
