As I start to get older, I am having to consider my skin more and more. I have always been lucky enough to have clear skin with few blemishes, but as I get older, the lines and imperfections are starting to appear. To give you a bit of background of the La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Collection, it has been created to help combat the stress caused to skin from the extremes of environment, lifestyle and travel. Using two plants and an algae from the Swiss Alps, Purple Saxifrage, Soldanella Alpina and Swiss Snow Algae, these plants are able to survive and thrive in one of the most extreme and harsh environments in the world. They have been able to use this strength and survival mechanisms to create this skin care range and help protect skin from signs of ageing and help protect skin from environmental damage.

Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Serum

This is probably the best serum I have ever used, I often joke that I hide my products from my boyfriend (seriously, why does he have to use so much?!) but this is one which I’m not just hiding, but I am hiding and using in secret so he is completely unaware of it. This serum is silky-smooth to use and it makes my skin feel instantly hydrated, soothed, renewed, restored, revived, replenished… all those words. Literally, all of them! This Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Serum feels amazing and it honestly makes my skin feel and look the best it ever has. The texture is silky smooth and it absorbs super fast, yet it feels super rich and nourishing even though you only need to use a tiny amount. I have been using the serum and the transforming cream over the top and that is all I have been needing for the day in terms of both skin care and face make-up. Also, since a little does go such a long way, I have a feeling this bottle will last longer than average serums, making it a little more cost effective than you might expect.

Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming Cream

La Prairie have literally blown my mind with this Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming Cream. It is designed to be applied over serum, much like a day cream, but alongside moisturising your skin, it also gives colour and an SPF 30. I know it might sound like a tinted moisturiser, but it’s so much more! First of all, it feels like a luxurious day cream, it glides over skin, feels weightless and hydrating and it has that silky smooth feel which feels amazing on your skin, light, protected, nourished and super-comfortable. Despite containing a high SPF, it feels nothing like an SPF cream, so you get all the protection without that ‘sun screen’ feel, no stickiness, no weight, nothing, if you didn’t know it was there you would assume it didn’t contain SPF at all as you just can’t feel it. Finally, this transforming cream gives colour and coverage to your skin. It only comes in 4 shades, but each shade is self-adjusting to go lighter or darker. I tried two shades on and even though the darker shade looked too dark, as soon as it was on my skin, it did blend in to look perfect. The colour pigments reflect light to brighten skin and balance the tone. I have naturally quite pale skin and I often find foundations at their lightest are slightly too dark, so the fact I could wear two of these shades shows how much it really does transform on skin. This revolutionary product is incredible and it gives me everything I would generally get from three products in one, with the added bonus of it being a joy to use and wear every day. I can’t say enough good things about this collection, if you are tempted to indulge, do it, you won’t be disappointed!
