Miller Harris Etui Noir
Like a worn leather jacket that gets passed between you, leaning comforting flashbacks of the other in its scents. The night is deep with fragrant iris as you move quickly through the city. The buildings flash by and on the brisk air are more exotic notes of incense and Indonesian patchouli.

My Thoughts
Miller Harris Etui Noir is part of a set of two fragrance, one for day, one for night; Lumière Dorée is for the day, Etui Noir is for night. It’s probably no surprise to anyone that the night fragrance, Etui Noir is my favourite! Why is it so special? Because it’s oh-so-sexy in a dark, mysterious way. The perfume opens with a hit of bergamot and tangerine, but this is no fresh, fruity citrus, it has a darker feel to it, almost of the orange rind which you find in an old fashioned. At the heart there is an intoxicating cocktail of styrax (amber notes), smooth, rich cashmere wood, smoky incense and sweet, woody orris (which smells a little like violets and wood). At the base of the fragrance you will find amber, woods, vetiver, aged leather and powdery patchouli. It has the smell of hot dark bars in a The Marais (Paris), cocktails, bar tops that have been there since the building was built, amber, silks, cashmere and treasured leather with the soft smokiness of the candles flickering on each table. It’s a slice of Paris which you dream and read about, it’s sexy in a cool way and addictive in every way. Another winning Miller Harris fragrance!
