My Thoughts
‘Celebrity Perfumes’ are generally not really my thing, but Elizabeth Taylor isn’t your average celebrity. She’s iconic and White Diamonds is an classic fragrance in it’s own right. In a world filled with 1D / JLo / T-Swift and God-forbid Kerry Katona perfumes, Elizabeth Taylor doesn’t really fit into the the landscape of celebrity fragrance, but actually, White Diamonds was the first ever celebrity perfume created and the birthplace of the phenomenon. Since 1991, women have been loving White Diamonds for it’s old old-school glamour, aldehydic florals, rich jasmine and tuberose. Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds opens with notes of rich neroli, white lily and aldehydic florals. The heart is filled with feminine and heady florals of tuberose, jasmine, rose, Lily and sweet woody violety Orris. The base is heavy with powdery patchouli, exotic and woody sandalwood and rich earthy oakmoss. It has the feel of an old-school fragrance; rich and glamorous, however it’s much lighter and less intense than perfumes like First by Van Cleef & Arpels and Chanel No. 5. It lacks the heady intensity of these fragrances, in comparison it has a subtle feel and almost has a creamy texture. I love White Diamonds for it’s glamour and fabulousness; it’s rich and floral on a sensual woody base, with a beautiful powdery finish, perfect for the day time!
Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds is available from Debenhams, Superdrug and Boots.
