Atkinsons Oud Save The King
Oud Save the King is as charismatic and extravagantly elegant as the glamorous Crown Prince who inspired it. Freshly infused earl grey bergamot and iris à la boutonnière brighten the majesty of oud, which is further exalted by the plushness of suede and an exhilarating cortège of wood essences. A scintillating dialogue between the hieratic scents of England and the Orient, Oud Save the King is a fragrance of supreme luxury, to be worn with straight-backed posture, stiff-upper lip and a most regal jauntiness and insouciance.

My Thoughts
Over the last few months, I have been loving Atkinsons Oud Save The Queen, which is the feminine counterpart of Atkinsons Oud Save The King. There is nothing I don’t love about Oud Save The Queen, it is a slice of floriental oud perfection! As I was spritzing myself with it a few days ago, I realised ‘Holy Smokes!’ I have never blogged about Oud Save The King. So here I am, ready to talk your ears off about how much I love (and my boyfriend loves) the masculine version of one of my favourite perfumes!
Oud Save The King is very different to what you might expect from the notes give above, yes, I can smells the bergamot, earl grey tea, orris and oud, but this fragrance is so much more complex than you might first think. It has a heavy heart of rich heady florals, I think jasmine, rose and orange blossom. I am also sure I can smell a variety of woods, leather, tobacco and spices. It also as a rich, warm, exotic sweetness to it of vanilla absolute. At first I wasn’t sure about it, as I was really expecting it to be more oud-y, but actually, now I don’t really care because I love it for what it is, which is a rich, complex delicious floriental for men. My boyfriend has been wearing this fragrance for the past few weeks and it’s fast turning into a hot favourite for him, every day that he wears it I love it more and more, It’s got more vanilla sweetness to it than his usual taste, but there’s something about it which we bot love. It’s massively addictive and exciting about it, it has a dandy-esque feel to it, but it’s also got a playful twist. He loves it, I love it, together we wear Oud Save The King and Oud Save The Queen, each of us thinking we smell better than each other!
