Engaged
It’s hard to believe that just over a year ago my boyfriend and I got engaged. We thought about setting a date and picking a venue, but dammnnnn it’s a big decision! Next thing we knew, we were buying a house, gutting it and renovating it. This is no small project, only structural walls remained, everything else has been ripped out, rebuilt, re-plastered, there is literally not a floorboard which won’t be worked on! It kind of put the whole wedding-thing on the back burner (of the oven we haven’t yet fitted). I have had a few sweet messages asking if we are still engaged and if everything is OK, it is, I promise! Buying a house is a pretty hefty task, renovating it, is even bigger!

When I did start to think about wedding dresses, I was shocked at how much I hated every gown I saw, as well as how much they cost. Quite frankly, if I’m going to spend £5,000 to £10,000 on a dress, I want it to be rainbow Valentino, not ivory, strapless with floral embroidery. The dresses which were more affordable, were also kind of ugly, ugly and cheap looking. Maybe I was looking in the wrong places, but damn, I just wasn’t feeling it! I couldn’t help but wonder, is it really so hard to make a wedding dress which is modern and cool?
