#LFWHandbagEssentials
It’s hard to believe my first London Fashion Week experience was back in the days when it was held at the Natural History Museum. I don’t think I can count on both hands all the times I have attended, I have been there as a friend of a designer (just having a nosy!), working for brands and as well as a blogger. Each experience has been exciting, interesting and exhausting. I spend 50 weeks of the year keeping my handbag as minimal as possible, the other two weeks (S/S and A/W Fashion weeks) it is piled high with everything I could possibly need. Call me Mary Poppins if you want, but I think of it as my London Fashion Week handbag essentials / survival kit! #LFWHandbagEssentials.
Vita Coco
The days can be long at hard during fashion week, so it’s important to stay hydrated with plenty of Vita Coco Coconut Water. It is packed full of electrolytes which help give energy and it’s also more hydrating than water. It comes in a verity of flavours; original, pineapple and peach and mango, my favourite is the original as it’s nice and simple. I am also a huge fan of the Vita Coco Café Lattes and Mochas. They give hydration and a hit of caffeine. It’s also worth having a small pot of Vita Coco Coconut oil in your handbag, it works as a hair tamer, cuticle moisturiser and general emergency moisturiser too!
Tech
It’s important to keep your tech in check! Make sure your phone is fully charged each day, and you have closed down any unused apps, you might even want to set your screen to a little darker than usual to try and prolong your battery life. Make sure you have your iPhone charger with you and if you have one, a portable iPhone charger too. You will be able to snatch a few minutes for lunch so make sure you sit yourself by a plug! There is nothing worse than running out of camera battery, so I charge mine every night during LFW, just to be on the safe side. If I have a spare battery; I charge that too and keep it with me. Finally, don’t rely on just one camera lens, pack a few, you never know which one will work best for you, sometimes macro lenses can be great for catwalk and street style details, but for presentations you might find you need a little more distance and you want something a little more wide angle. So be ready to swap your lens at a moments notice!
Make-up
It’s always good to carry around a good stash of make up during London fashion week, the exhibition can be hot and airless, the shows BFC Showspace can be hot and claustrophobic and you might find yourself rushing from one venue to another and fighting your way through crowds. With this in mind, a freshen up of make up can be essential!
Sunglasses
Personally I love sunglasses to hide behind and add a little *rock star* to my look. It’s also like having blinkers when the paps are shooting your friends outfit!
Invitations
Last and definitely not least, whatever you do, don’t forget your invitation. Yes, you might be on a list or you can prove you have been invited by showing an email, but things are so so much easier if you have your old school paper invitation in your handbag.
Have fun and stay hydrated, also thank you to Vita Coco for collaborating with me on this post!
Love this! and completely know what you mean by packing too much for LFW, but gotta be prepared!
