Jo Malone London Sweet Lemon
Sweet Lemon is a vibrant, mouth-watering cologne that mirrors the custom of adding a slice of freshly-cut lemon or a sprinkle of sugar to a cup of just-brewed tea to lift, lighten and brighten the infusion. A spritz of Sweet Lemon Cologne, with its hints of pineapple, peach and fresh green cypress, misted over your favourite tea fragrance, will lend its translucency and a zesty fruitfulness with a sugary twist
Top Notes: Lemon, Bergamot, Apple
Heart Notes: Pineapple, Peach, Freesia
Base Notes: Cypress, Cedarwood, Musk
Jo Malone London often recommend combining their fragrances together or layering over the bath and body products. Sweet Lemon works well with English Pear & Freesia or Earl Grey & Cucumber. The Sweet Lemon cologne adds bursts of juicy citrus fruits to both of these fragrances, balancing out the floral notes of freesia, orange blossom & rose in English Pear & Freesia, and uplifting the bergamot and water jasmine in Earl Grey & Cucumber.
Jo Malone London Sweet Lemon is part of the Jo Malone Archive Collection, this collection can be found exclusively at the Regent Street Flagship store and Selfridges, it celebrates some of the most admired Jo Malone London scents. Sweet Lemon originally came from the Tea Collection of 2011. One would expect this perfume to be a gourmand lemon based perfume filled with crystallised sugar notes and lady like florals, but instead it’s actually very clean, fresh and sharp. It smells like the tea you have with the cake, rather than the cake you have with the tea. It opens with a burst of zesty lemons, slightly smoky bergamot and a touch of apple. Pineapple is at the heart of the fragrance, but personally, I can smell it throughout, it is just a prevalent in the fragrance as the lemon. There is also a lot of green in the fragrance, clean, leafy green notes, probably of tea leaves and although it’s not mentioned, I am sure there is a hint of lavender. The base is a sweet and woody with musk, cedarwood and green mossy cypress. Another stunning fragrance from Jo Malone London, a sharp, fresh, green leafy lemon with a heavy hit of pineapple and woodsy notes. Perfect for Spring!
