Origins

Cartier Eau de Cartier was launched in 2001, it was released as an eau de toilette for men and women. It has an air of simplicity, balmy freshness and unisex sophistication, a fragrance for those who like to keep things subtle and sophisticated. Cartier Eau de Cartier eau de parfam is a modern adaptation of this now classic fragrance, infused with warm amber notes and exotic vanilla.

My Thoughts

When it comes to fragrance, my heart (and my boyfriends) is set on rich, heavy woods and Oriental perfumes. However, when it comes to the Summer months, we both appreciate something a little lighter and less oppressive, which is where fragrances like Cartier Eau de Cartier (EDT) come into play. This latest Eau de Cartier EDP has all the aquatic freshness that men love of the original, with a little added excitement. The fragrance bursts open with a hit of citrus; Orange, Grapefruit and Bergamot, before settling into something a little woodier and greener, then turning into a fresh, aquatic citrus with a warm base of amber. It’s not as vanilla as you might expect, nor is it as sea-salty and balmy. It has the feel of a tropical holiday, zesty with citrus fruits and fresh vegetation under the warmth of the sun. Sea breezes with trails of warm woods, spice markets and antique finds. It’s still fresh and balmy, but it’s less European, it’s a little more exotic!

Cartier Eau de Cartier EDP is available from 1st February 2016 from House of Fraser.
