Mother Knows Best: Foreo ‘Luna’ Facial Cleansing Brush

Foreo-Luna-Facial-Cleansing-Brush review

A while ago, I realised there is not enough blogs and media coverage which is focused towards skin care for older women, in particular 60+. My mother has always been passionate about skincare and from a young age has always taught me the importance of looking after your skin. She has been buying and using skin care for the last 45+ years and has always loved designer skin care as well as experimenting with high street skincare which the latest craze. Once in a while, I like to turn my blog over to my mum, so she can share her latest skincare favourites with my readers.

Foreo Luna Facial Cleansing Brush

After several months of using the Foreo Luna Facial Cleansing Brush, I feel I can give it a full and fair review. First of all, I would like to point out, that unlike many other mechanical cleansing devises, the Foreo Luna doesn’t have a regular brush, instead it has silicone bristles which are softer on the skin and less abrasive (see photo). Many have criticised cleansing brushes for being too harsh and damaging on skin, the Foreo Luna Facial Cleansing Brush will not do this as it is much softer.

I keep my Foreo Luna in the bathroom and use it in the shower as part of my morning routine.  It is completely waterproof and easy to care for as it is silicone and only requires a rinse under clean warm water. The whole experience is so user friendly and effortless, whilst giving great results.  My skin feels and looks fantastic after using it and the tiny nodules clear blocked pores and break down any build up of oily patches. The manufacturers recommend a twice weekly use, but I have been known to use it every other day, as I love the results it gives and I feel it is gentle enough for my skin to handle. It takes 2 minutes to deep clean the whole face in 45 second sections which are marked by a slight pause in the T Sonic pulsations.  I tend to do this whilst in the shower, often whilst I am using conditioner on my hair.

The Luna also has a toning feature to tighten sagging facial muscles, therefore giving the face a slight tone, I’m not going to tell you it gives you a facelift, but it does give a slight lift to the face. Combined with the clean and smooth effect it gives, my skin really does look better for using the Luna. It comes with a charger, but it rarely needs charging as the battery life lasts around 450 uses. I tired of most beauty gadgets quickly, but the Foreo Luna Facial Cleansing Brush has been a bathroom staple for the last 6 months and I have even taken it on holiday with me. Now that I have one, I wouldn’t want to go without it!
