Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani Collection
I recently blogged about the Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani eye shadow palette, read more about it here (Spoiler: It’s amazing!) Urban Decay have now launched more from the Gwen Stefani Collection and I am super excited to share it with you all. If you read the last post I wrote, you will know what a huge fangirl for Gwen I am, so please bare with the 15 year old girl inside me who just wants to tell you about how awesome she is. This woman has been a favourite of mine since she was punk wearing Bindi’s in the 90’s!
No doubt shot to fame with ‘Just A Girl‘ circa 1995, they were a ska punk band so you know there was no stylists or make-up artists on the scene, it was just Gwen doing her thing, looking cool. Her look has evolved over the years, but it’s not a million miles away from where it started. She has always stayed true to her flawless skin, sharp brows and strong lip. She’s naturally beautiful enough to wear beachy barely there make-up, but she’s not that kind of girl. It’s clear she loves make up and Urban Decay have been super vocal about Gwens huge involvement and passion for this project. I believe every word of it, this collection is mega long wearing and the colours are peachy pink skin tones with bold lips, brows and eyes.
Glide-on Lip Pencil
It’s super important that Gwen’s lips colour lasts, she’s doing TV shows, interviews, concerts and she can’t have lipstick that fades. This lip pencil is designed to stop feathering and make lipstick last all day long. They come in six shades, all bold shades of rose red to dark red and fuchsia. What can I say, great colours, great texture and they elongate the life of your lipstick. Well worth buying, especially if you are buying one of the lipsticks, speaking of which…
Possibly my favourite part of the collaboration, the lipsticks! Eight killer shades of super intense colours, varying finishes and creamy texture. Perfect!! Gwen has been rocking a red lip from way back when and she knows a thing or two about a good pop of colour. These are her eight must have shades and I am personally loving Wonderland and 714. Both are the bright colours you can see in the photo, but Wonderland has a satin finish, super charged colour and a slight pink tint to the red. As for 714, this is kind of a game changer lipstick for me, the texture is creamy and it’s easy and comfortable to wear, but the finish is matte, like perfect matte. It’s amazing! It’s one of those lipsticks that if people aren’t talking about, they should be. It’s one of the best matte reds I have ever used, plus the wear off is even with no weird peeling or flaking like matte finishes can do. Seriously, if you love a matte red lipstick, you need this one. I’m obsessed!
Gwen’s brows are always on fleek so it makes perfect sense the collaboration delivered a killer brow product. This nifty little box contains mini tweezers (in gold, thank you very much!) as well as brow brushes to shape and sculpt. It has two mirror one normal, one magnifier (one in each of the compartment lids) as well we two powder shades and a wax to set them. Blonde haired girls like Gwen and I can rejoice as the shades are light and dark blonde, perfect for day and night looks. So many brow products are made for naturally dark brows, so whilst brunettes might not care for this part of the collection, us blondies love it!
Great cheekbones need a little help with blushes, bronzers and highlighters, which is where this palette comes in handy. Again, it has blondes in mind with it’s light pinks, peaches and champagne colours. The highlighter is nice and light and the bronze is dark enough to make a splash, yet light enough not to look, well, dirty. Again, it is a long wear formula, really pretty finishes and perfect colours.
Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani Collection is available now from UrbanDecay.co.uk and FYI, this post isn’t sponsored, I just really, really love this collection.
