My Thoughts
Guerlain was founded in 1828, they are one of the most famous fragrances houses in the world. It’s almost embarrassing to admit that this is my first ever Guerlain perfume. It’s one of those brands which has a cult following, an army of adorers, including one of my BFF’s friends. I follow her instagram account and she regularly posts photos of her Guerlain collection, bottle upon beautiful bottle of their fragrances and I guess that’s one of the reasons I wanted to join the Guerlain club. Any brand who inspires that kind of passion, has to be worth checking out. Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Limon Verde felt like a great place to start, as I have been loving zesty lemon and lime based fragrances recently. Aqua Allegoria Limon Verde starts with a fresh punchy limes, it’s natural and naturally sweet. Once it settles, you discover the fresh greens of grass, floral stems and almost salad leaves. The tropical fruits give it that fresh, floral balmy feel, whilst the fig gives it a slightly darker, woodier feel. The tonka bean at the base is very subtle, it just adds that extra warmth, the ‘something something’ that lingers on your skin. As with every citrus perfume, I do find myself topping it up half way through the day, but this is more for my own enjoyment than everything, that citrus burst when you spray it, is just stunning! I’m so glad I have finally joined the Guerlain club, I have a feeling this might be the start of a perfumery love affair! Pop this perfume on your must sniff list, it’s a delight!
