Simplicity is part of the Calvin Klein DNA, from the bottle to the fragrance, Ck2 has a feel of minimalism and refined freshness. Whilst all fragrances can be worn by a man or woman, most commercial fragrances are still separated into genders. Calvin Klein were the first brand to step out of the traditional gender boundaries and make a fragrance marketed towards men and women. Ck2 is classic Calvin Klein, it is simple, modern, with an urban twist. It has peppery spice at the top with green notes and citrus. The heart is floral red roses and aquatic notes, whist the base is creamy masks, Jasmine and the slightly harsher woodsy vetiver. It’s no secret that my boyfriend and I share many fragrances, he’s not afraid of a strong floral note, and I’m not afraid of woodsy, green, citrus notes which are traditionally more masculine. What can I say, it’s fresh, simple and masculine enough for men, feminine enough for women. It’s a modern classic, all over again. It’s too simple for my taste, as I love heady red roses and heavy ouds, but my boyfriend loves it. If I was choosing between this and ck one, I would go for this latest edition. #CKnailedit.
