Perfume: Van Cleef & Arpels ‘Féerie Rubis’

Inspiration

Féerie Rubis is an adaptation on the Van Cleef & Arpels classic fragrance Féerie. It is inspired by another world filled with magic, faeries and dreams, with the ruby being the focal point of the fragrance. Rubies are a symbol of passion, love and some say the ruby has the ability to make dreams come true.

Top Notes: Redcurrants, Raspberries, Lychees, Pink Peppercorns

Heart Notes: Magnolia, Freesia, Iris, Peonies

Base Notes: Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Musk, Tonka beans

My Thoughts

I try not to judge a perfume on the bottle, but my-oh-my! Van Cleef & Arpels Féerie Rubis is a visual treat! The glass looks like a big, beautiful ruby jewel, and the lid is a fairy sat on on flower, it’s so pretty, it had to be acknowledged! As you might expect from the bottle, this perfume is designed for a younger lady, it is fruity, floral and very pretty. It’s not sweet and sugary, instead it’s fresh and juicy with pretty florals at the heart. It’s the perfect perfume to sit pride of place on a shelf or a dressing table, the scent isn’t quite my style (not a rose or a sniff of oud and amber to be found!), but it’s definitely something I would buy for a younger sister / cousin / family friend. On Christmas morning, Van Cleef & Arpels Féerie Rubis would give the squeal of delight you were hoping for, and the mother would approve of it too!
