The first lipstick I ever used was Estée Lauder. I probably smeared it on my cheeks and my lips like children do. My mother always wore Estée Lauder make-up and still does. Every year my father bought her a bottle of Aliage and the beauty gift box for christmas (this years set is incredible FYI!). As all stylish mother’s do, she went for the nude to mid-pink shades, I of course, went for the red and hot pink shades. Luckily for me, as I got older, she gave me the bright red shades I loved so much and I can remember being the only student at university wearing Estée Lauder lipsticks with my vintage dresses!

Lips

Recently, I have rediscovered my love of Estée Lauder make-up thanks to their A/W Collection. Their Pure Color Envy Matte lipstick is a joy, I have Neon Azalea, which is a hot, hot pink. It gives a wonderful coverage and finish, and it lasts for hours and hours with no drying effect and no weird wear-off situations. Their Pure Color Envy Lip Potion applies like a lipgloss and it is clear, it tingles and plumps the lips for a fuller lip look and leaves lips with a hint of pink. Personally, I use this and apply lip colour over the top, as I like a bolder lip colour. I have a bigger is better policy with lips and whilst my lips are fairly full, this amps them up a little bigger. I’m too lazy to use it every day, but when I do, it works well!

Face

Another favourite of mine from the collection is the Double Wear Foundation. It is a handy little compact with a mirror and a sponge inside. There is a button which releases enough foundation to cover my face. This gives is nice medium coverage, but if you want more, you could build it up. Personally, I find it smooths out my skin tone, coverages minor imperfections and feels light and comfortable on my skin. When it comes to foundations, I am all about the texture, if it feels drying or waxy, I can’t bare it on my skin. Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation feels creamy to apply and comfortable all day long!

Eyes

It’s no exaggeration when I say I have chronic dark circles. Some days I look in the mirror and they are all I can see, not because I have BDD, but because they are huge and dark, on really bad day, they are puffy with a deep line. It’s pretty horrific. I generally use a lot of eye cream, sleep lots and use plenty of concealer to try and help them out, but nothing solves the issues completely. This Perfectionist Concealer is pretty much made for me, it has a serum at one end, and a classic concealer at the other. The Serum is designed to hydrate skin and diffuse lines, and add a light coverage. The concealer at the other end covers the darkness and sits on the skin like a classic concealer. Personally I use both ends, but I can honestly say it’s probably the best results I have found from any concealer I have tried. It gives a great coverage without feeling cakey. It also gets bonus points as the palest shade matches my skin tone perfectly.

As for the Magic Smoky Powder Shadow Stick, these kind of amazed me. The texture is so soft and smooth, they literally turn into a power eyeshadow on contact with skin. They give more precision than an eyeshadow would, so you just run them over your lids and under your eyes to give a super easy and effective coverage. I generally just use one to give a little colour and shadow to my eyelid and under my eyes before I apply some liquid liner and they are perfect for this. I love the texture, they are so silky to apply and so fast and easy. The only thing I would worry about is them damaging in my handbag, so I tend to apply in the morning and leave them at home.
