Serge Lutens La Vierge de Fer is inspired by the Lily flower and the symbolic meaning of the flower; purity, motherhood, birth, renewal. Along with all other Serge Lutens fragrances, the specific notes are not named, instead they offer a quote which represents the fragrance.
“The religion of iron needed a Virgin, and the Virgin, a lily.”
I recently shared my love of Ambre Sultan, which is a wonderful herby Amber fragrance. I love it and so does my boyfriend, it’s rich, heavy and fabulous. Those who favour something a little more feminine and floral might prefer La Vierge de Fer, which is a fabulous floral perfume. It’s a clean, freshly cut bouquet of fresh white lilies and florals. It’s perfectly clean, floral and delightful. It has slight metallic notes and almost a soft smokiness. Perhaps some notes of freshly cut grass and white musk. But mainly, it’s a fresh, floral, green and white bouquet. Also, I think it’s worth mentioning, if the idea of lilies doesn’t excite you, but you are looking for a fabulous white floral perfume, you should try La Vierge de Fer regardless, I never normally like the smell of lilies or lily-based perfumes, but I love this fragrance!
