Perfume: Clinique ‘Aromatics In Black’

I first started wearing Clinique perfumes when I was in my late teens, my favourite was Happy, I loved it’s joyful, uplifting feel. However, as I got older, I stopped wearing fresh, fruity perfumes and I moved towards slightly heavier and headier fragrances. For some reason, I hadn’t really considered moving back to Clinique perfumes, as in my mind, they were a little too fresh, floral and fruity, and whilst I loved them when I was younger. I felt like I had moved on. Until recently….

Clinique Beyond Rose 

A few months ago, Clinique launched Beyond Rose perfume and I absolutely fell in love with it! It’s fabulous and exotic. It’s inspired by the rich culture of the Middle East, yet it’s got a modern twist which makes it a perfect Rose based perfume for the Western woman.

Clinique Aromatics In Black

Clinique have done it again! Their latest perfume launch Aromatics In Black is just as fabulous and once again, I’m obsessed!! Inspired by the modern, exquisite woman who finds the brilliance in black, it’s unique, intelligent, mysterious and seductive.

Notes

Top Notes: Plum Leaf Accord, Pink Grapefruit and Bergamot.

Heart Notes: Osmanthus, Jasmine and Neroli.

Base Notes: Myrrh, Vetiver and Tonka Beans.

My Thoughts

Between Beyond Rose and Aromatics In Black I’m positively obsessed with Clinique perfumes. Aromatics In Black is stunning, it’s rich, warm, sweet and fruity. It has that sweet, fruitiness of dark plums, which almost reminds me of pomegranate, which muddles with the zestiness and sharpness of the grapefruit and bergamot. The florals at the heart blend beautifully with the velvety myrrh and the soft, sweet tonka beans. It’s got that rich, dark, smooth sweetness. It’s a modern twist on their classic Aromatics perfume, it’s slightly lighter, fruitier and more fun. It’s pure perfection and yes, I am obsessed!
