Last week I packed my suitcase and headed off to Cornwall for a little British seaside fun! These are my beauty holiday favourites!
Jo Malone Bath Oil
I’m obsessed with holiday baths! I never have the time in London, but when I’m on holiday I like to make it part of my daily activities, sometimes it takes up most of my afternoon! One of my favourite bath products has to Jo Malone London Lime Basil Mandarin bath oil is a fruity, herby, zesty dream! The fragrance is the signature Jo Malone London scent and it’s really beautiful. The oil turns almost milky in the water and the scent lingers on your skin for hours. If you wear this same fragrance as a perfume, it will add depth and longevity, but if you wear another Jo Malone London perfume, it will combine to make your personal scent a little more tailored to you. Personally, I love to combine Lime Basil Mandarin bath oil with Red Roses Cologne. It makes the red roses a little more zesty and fresh, whilst still retaining the warm, romantic feel.
Neal’s Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Body Butter
Post bath I love to use a really indulgent body butter and my holiday favourite was this divine Bee Lovely body butter by Neal’s Yard Remedies. It helps save the bees and makes my skin feel soft, nourished and very, very happy!
Clarins Eau Ressourçante
I kept my perfume fresh and light with Clarins Eau Ressourçante. It’s actually more of a fragrance splash. It’s light, fresh and aromatic, it’s even safe to apply during the day in the sun. It contains notes of Basil, Iris, Cedarwood and Sarsaparilla.
Lush Bath Bombs
Whilst I do love to bath in opulent Jo Malone London bath oils, I also love the sweet treats from Lush Cosmetics! Their super fun bath treats never fail to make me smile, Pink Flamingo bubble bar anyone? It turns your bathwater pink and fills the air with the scent of rosewater, ylang ylang and bergamot!
Jurlique Hand Cream
I’m a hand cream addict and I try not to pick favourites, but this Jurlique Rose Hand Cream is *really* special! It leaves my hands, soft velvety and smelling of roses. And not just any roses, beautiful natural, heady fragrant roses. Just stunning!
When travelling I tend to keep my skin care nourishing and luxe, without packing too many items. The sea air and sun can be quite drying on the skin, and I want to give my skin a treat and keep it looking good. This Balance Me cream cleanser removes all trace of make-up, dirt and sun cream and it’s made of 99% natural ingredients. Sisley Anti-aging Serum is like magic when it comes to making my skin appear healthy and radiant. Lulu Op’s Time Bomb is a brilliant eye serum which really helps dispel my dire dark circles and reduces the need to trowel on the concealer. Finally Clinique Repairwear gives my skin the overnight treat it needs, a highly concentrated night cream which leaves my skin plumped, nourished and looking and feeling good.
It’s funny, I feel like everyone hates wearing sun cream because it’s such an annoyance to apply and it often feels heavy on the skin. At worse it can leave you with that horrible white film and sometimes it can feel a bit sticky. Not nice! The best way to combat this is by using a sun care which is a little more expensive, but it feels like a moisturiser too apply and wear. Nuxe Sun is my current favourite. It applies like a dream, leaves skin feeling nourished and protected, without feeling heavy or sticky and the best thing is, it smells like Nuxe with all the goodness of Sweet Orange, Tahitian Gardenia and Vanilla. I’m addicted to the smell of Huille Prodigieuse which is why I also packed a bottle of the iconic dry bottle oil, you know, just in case!
Big hair is the best hair, but after years of bleaching and using styling products which contain sea salt, I’m starting to see a lot more split ends and sometimes, it falls out. Not cool!! I was recently recommended Nanogen and I wasn’t sure if I needed it as I assumed it was for older ladies who had issues with their hair being very thin (and falling out) due to age. I have been using it for a few weeks now and I am really impressed, it gives me nice big, full hair without leaving it dry and damaged. It gives the kind of results I get from salt sprays, but without the damage and dryness. I’m a total Nanogen convert as it gives the day-to-day look I want and hopefully gives long term results too.
Clinique Hong Kong Make-up
This Summer Clinique produced four limited edition sets of make up, all inspired by cool destinations around the world. I picked Hong Kong, because I loved the hot pink lips and cheeks with the strong eyeliner and eyeshadow. Hong Kong is also next on my travel bucket list, so I couldn’t resist! These sets are only available via World Duty Free, so next time you are at the airport, make sure you hunt one down!
