There are five fragrances in the Shanghai Tang women’s collection, each bottle is the same design, but uses accent colours to indicate the different perfumes. The motif on the top of the cap and the front of the ceramic ball is Shòu, which is the Chinese symbol for longevity. The cap and the centre ceramic ball also represent the number ‘8’ which is of course a lucky number in Chinese culture. *Hat’s off* to Shanghai Tang, these bottles are really spectacular, far more beautiful in real life, the photos just can’t capture the sculptural qualities, weight and opulence of this bottle.
There are five fragrances in the women’s collection of Shanghai Tang perfume collection, all of which are beautiful and unique. I think my personal favourite has to be Orchid Bloom, which is a fabulous blend of rose, berries, musk and patchouli, it’s warm, heady and oh-so-fabulous! I also love Gold Lily (photographed) as it is a really beautiful blend of Lily flower with soft accents of jasmine, orange flower, patchouli and musk. It’s one of the most beautiful white floral perfumes I have ever found, it’s rich, warm, romantic and exotic. Sometimes jasmine and orange blossom can be a bit sickly and over-powering, but Gold Lily has a softness with the musk and almost a sweet woodiness. Shanghai Tang Gold Lily is the Queen of white floral fragrances. It’s fabulous!
Shanghai Tang Gold Lily is out now and available exclusively from Harvey Nichols.
