I have been a long time fan of Clarins skincare. However, when the last recession came along I decided that I should make make an effort to cut down my expenses and at the time a lot of magazines were recommending high street alternatives. Pre-recession, Clarins Extra-Firming Day and Night cream was my favourite day and night duo and now I am using it again, I can’t believe I ever gave it up!
For the past few weeks, my skin has been greedily soaking up the luxury of this wonderful cream, its so light and fluffy that it is immediately absorbed. It has a non-greasy appearance and leaves my skin looking so bright and healthy, there is no need to wear foundation over the top, unless I want. The scent is light and fragrant, the colour is just as it always was, very pale peach, it has built in SPF thus protecting my skin from the suns harmful rays.
After just a few weeks, my skin already has a more plumped-up, brighter appearance. Clarins Extra-Firming Day Cream really does help to smooth out the appearance of fine lines. As with all quality products, a little goes a long way, and from past experience I would expect it to last around nine months. So it actually is very cost effective. I use it every morning after thoroughly cleansing and toning my skin. I gently smooth it over my entire face and neck and I am wondering why I deprived my skin of this essential maintenance for so long!
The packaging hasn’t changed much, it still has the clean, minimalist, simple styling with a heavy glass jar which fits into a cardboard box, I always keep it in the box to protect it from the suns rays on my dressing table. There is nothing fancy or gimmicky about the packaging, just a no-nonsense utility container so you don’t feel that a large portion of the cost of the product is paying for the container.
To compliment this wonderful cream I have also invested in the Clarins Multi-Regenerante Nuit (Extra Firming Night Cream). It has a heavier “more meaty” consistancy. It is white in colour and is the ‘big sister’ of the day cream. Underneath this I wear Clarins Anti-Age Intensif Double Serum and the combination of these two products is fantastic. It gives my skin a real overnight tonic. My skin absorbs all of this treatment so there is no danger of rinsing half of it away in the shower the following morning. I have been getting lots of compliments of late thanks to these wonderful products. I will definitely be reinvesting in these creams when they do eventually run out.
