Perfume: Comme des Garçons ‘Floriental’

Perfume: Comme des Garçons 'Floriental' review

I don’t get up early for much, but a Comme des Garçons breakfast launch is definitely something I will set my alarm clock for! Bleary eyed, I headed to Selfridges to hear all about the new fragrance, Floriental. The perfume inspired by a flower with no scent, the Cistus Flower. Imagine florals, exploration and mystery.

Unisex

When creating this fragrance, the team gathered together every floral fragrance they liked and then threw them away. They wanted to create a floral perfume which was different and exciting. Something which blurs the boundaries of floral and oriental, as well as genders. Behold, a floral perfume which is truly unisex. I love it and so does my boyfriend. This is a bottle we will squabble over, me claiming it’s more feminine, him protesting it’s more masculine, both of us knowing it’s unisex and neither of us want to share with the other.

Notes

There are no definite top, middle and base notes to this perfume, instead it is a blend of the resin-scented foliage of the Cistus Shrub, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Pink Pepper, Plum Liqueur. It’s rich, fabulous and both floral and oriental, without being too feminine, nor to masculine. It sounds impossible, but somehow they manage it.

Finally

So, was it worth the early rise? Of course it was! The new perfume is stunning, I’m obsessed already. The morning had an added bonus as I bumped into my friend Amanda of The Women’s Room blog, a blogroll *must*! Another must, is heading down to Selfridges to have first sniff of Floriental, who are the exclusive stockist of this fragrance the next two months.
