I have a bit of a *thing* for violets at the moment and I feel like I am on a bit of a mission to explore the world of violet based fragrances. Violets have a bit of a reputation for being a little dated and old fashioned, but if you stop and smell the flowers, you might be surprised at how pretty, romantic and playful they are. I’m a real rose perfume girl and somehow violets give me the same warmth, glamour and romance, but a little sweeter and more fun!
I am a huge fan of Annick Goutal perfumes, I love their simple yet refined scents, so delicate and fresh without getting lost on the skin. When I discovered their fragrance La Violette, I did a little jump for joy!
La Violette is a simple perfume which does not follow the traditional ingredient pyramid. Instead it simple contains notes of Violet, Violet Leaves, Turkish Rose and Raspeberry.
Annick Goutal La Violette is one of the most beautiful violet scented perfumes you can dream of. Imagine a wonderful blend of fresh violet flowers mixed with childhood Parma Violet sweets and blended with the fresh greens of the leaves and stems. It is fabulous yet playful and at the base it is wonderfully powdery and romantic. Imagine spending the afternoon in Laudée, Paris; eating cakes, sipping tea and gossiping with friends who all have pastel coloured hair and pale pink Chanel bags. Fabulous right?! So is this perfume, old school glamour and so cool!
