Mother Knows Best: Lanolips Antibacterial Hand Cream

lanolips handcream anti-bacterial lanolin natural hand cream review

Once in a while I turn my blog over to my mother, she’s a 60 year old skin care enthusiast who loves reviewing products from the perspective of the older woman. Older skin has different needs and I love that she can share her skincare wisdom with my older readers. Over to you mum…

I think of myself as a very ‘hands on’ mum, I am always sewing, cleaning, gardening and on top of all that, I ride my horse every day. My hands are always in use and often exposed to the elements, so they tend to get quite dry and at times they can be a little sore. I normally use hand cream about 4-6 times a day and I have tubes dotted around the house as well as in my car and in my handbag. My children call me a hand cream addict!

For the last few months, I have been using Lanolips Antibacterial Hand Cream and it is one of the best hand creams I have ever used. It has a fresh and subtle fragrance, as well as the added benefit of being anti-bacterial. I do a lot of cooking and we have a family dog as well as a horse, so it’s really important to me that my hands are hygienic and it’s quite rare to find a hand cream with antibacterial properties built in.

The real reason I love this hand cream is for the effect it has on my skin, it leaves my skin so soft and supple that I can honestly say, my hands have never been in such good condition. On first application, it feels quite greasy, but it quickly sinks into the skin and after just a minute or two it has completely absorbed and miraculously leaves my hands nourished and the soft. I wish I had discovered this product years ago, it has transformed the condition of my hands, nails and cuticles!

One tube of Lanolips Antibacterial Hand Cream lasts me about a month, I only apply a small amount and I have also found I use it less times a day than regular hand creams. Available from Boots, Look Fantastic and Waitrose.
