Once you have figured out all your basic festival essentials (food, alcohol, hand sanitiser, toilet paper) it’s time to get serious and start thinking about your look. Here are some of my festival fashion essentials:
Jumper
No matter how hot and sunny it is in the day, the temperature will drop at night, which is why you need a warm, yet cute jumper. Personally, I love this Boden embroidered sweatshirt as it’s fluffy on the inside, stylish on the outside and the dark colour and print will help hide stains and dirt. It’s also one of those jumpers which somehow goes with everything!
Scarf
Scarves are great accessories for all seasons as they are so versatile. In the day it can be worn in your hair to hide greasy roots, at night it can be worn around your neck to keep warm around the campfire. Mine is by Cleo Ferin Mercury and I got it on sale.
Sunglasses
Sunglasses are a must at festivals, they protect your eyes from the glaring sun, hide dark circles and make you look cool. Why pack one pair when you can pack two?! Personally, I love Ray-Ban’s for that effortlessly cool look and Wildfox sunglasses for something a little more eye-catching.
Boots
If your festival is mud free, avoid heavy, sweaty wellies and instead wear something a little more lightweight and comfortable. Personally, I love these Emu boots, they look cool with everything from skinny jeans to vintage dresses and they are light and comfortable to walk in.
Flowers
If you don’t wear a flower crown at least one day, you will feel left out. The bigger the flowers, the more they hide your dirty roots! These ones are from Claire’s Accessories.
Bum Bag
Keep your essentials safe and your hands free for chips and beers. This Bershka bum bag looks cute around your waist, or worn as a shoulder bag. The embossed tan leather makes it look more ‘festival’ and less ‘market stall’.
Suncream
Ok, it’s more of a beauty product than a fashion accessory, but quite frankly no-one can rock the lobster look, apply generously! I love Nuxe Sun cream in SPF 30. It smells like Summer and keeps my skin safe.
Jewels
Simple shorts and vest tops will look a whole lot cuter with some nice jewellery. Layer up the bracelets with your festival wristbands and pile on the necklaces. My personal favourites are this tassel necklace from Boden, this statement necklace from Magpie on the Run and bracelets by Hiho Silver.
Lipstick and Glitter
A pop of colour on the lips and a little (or a lot) of glitter on your cheekbones will pimp your look even if you haven’t slept or showered for three days! Go forth and pile on the Barry M Dazzle Dust and Joan Collin‘s Hot Pink Lipstick. Avoid wearing glitter too close to the eyes, whilst it looks amazing on Pinterest, it can be tricky to remove at 3am in the dark with a face wipe!
Happy Camping!
