Whilst I do believe Mother’s and Father’s day is a little trite, I do also love surprising them with little treats to mark the occasion. Dad’s are notoriously hard to shop for, so I thought it would be fun to put together a gift guide… You’re welcome!
Crabtree & Evelyn
I swear to God, my dad goes crazy for Crabtree & Evelyn products, he just love them! They have an amazing Gardeners’ Collection as well as a really beautiful selection of Lavender scented products. In the past, I have bought my Dad candles, soaps, hand creams and many other products! My dad has a dog and he loves to garden, so hand washes are a great gift for him. The hand wash is beautifully scented the smell of natural lavender, and the hand creams are super nourishing, I think Dad’s like a little luxury!
Jo Malone London
In my household, every special occasion is an excuse to buy Jo Malone London. Their unisex fragrances are perfect for men and women, I wear them and so does my boyfriend. 154 Cologne is a beautiful scent for a man and this 30ml size is perfect for a man who travels a lot and needs something flight-friendly. It is a beautiful blend of mandarin, grapefruit, lavender, basil, nutmeg and vetiver which is modern and masculine. To make this gift extra special, combine it with a Grapefruit Body and Hand Wash. Whether he uses it in the shower or just to wash his hands, this sharp citrus scent will combine beautifully with the 154 cologne. Don’t you love the way Jo Malone London Fragrance Combining works?
Floris London
My Dad is always clean shaven and while he pretends he doesn’t need any *fancy* shaving products, I have noticed he always uses them when I buy them for him! My boyfriend has recently been using Floris London Shaving oil and he likes them so much he suggested I should get some for my dad for Father’s Day. It smells like sandalwood with citrus, it’s fresh and gives a great shave. If my boyfriend approves, you know it’s going to be good!
Bulldog
If you are on a bit of a budget, but you still want to buy your dad a little treat, Bulldog skincare is a great high street option. All their products are 100% natural and great value for money. For father’s day this year they have teamed up with Penguin Books to offer a gift set of one of their four best selling items with a classic Penguin title. Available at Waitrose and priced at £5, which is pretty amazing for a skincare product and a book!
Escentric Molecules
Escentric Molecules is my boyfriends current favourite shower gel. He first spied it on Mr. Porter and when he saw the bottle, he thought it looked really cool and he knew because it was sold on Mr. Porter, it would be great quality too. He loves the modern green packaging and the earthy scent of vetiver, green peppercorn with lime. It’s fresh, clean and uplifting. Every man likes a good shower gel, this is a definite contender for any dad.
Cartier
If you want to splash out on your dad this Father’s day, then Cartier Pasha eau de toilette is a great choice. It is modern twist on a classic woody scent, it contains notes of mint, moss, citrus, musk, cedar, amber, oakwood and sandalwood. Who doesn’t love a little Cartier? My man loves Cartier Vetiver Bleu, but I think this one is a little more suited to a dad.
True Grace
The first time I bought my dad a scented candle, I wasn’t sure if he would like it or not, but actually he loved it. He burns them in his office and sometimes takes one to bed when he is going to bed early with a good book. This True Grace Portobello Oud candle is perfect for a man; it is smoky and woody with leather and spice. Beautiful!
MontBlanc Passport Holder
If your dad travels a lot, then a beautiful passport holder is a chic gift which will remind him of home, no matter where in the world he is. This Montblanc passport holder is simple and elegant as well as practical and thoughtful.
DVD
Why not go old school and give your dad a DVD? My parents recently saw The Imitation Game and loved it. Another DVD which might be worth considering is Taken, it’s pretty tough and gritty, the the storyline at the heart of it is saving his daughter. My dad loves both these films!
Charlotte Valkeniers Cufflinks
I recently got these Charlotte Valkeniers cufflinks for my boyfriend and he absolutely loves them! They are stylish and modern, which is hard to find in a cufflink. Maybe they are something you dad is looking for this weekend?
Yamazaki Whisky
If your dad loves a tipple in the evening, then whisky is always a good idea. Yamazaki Whisky is a Japanese whisky which my boyfriend goes nuts for, it’s sweeter than a regular whisky with notes of fruit and florals.
Ray Ban Sunglasses
The amazing thing about Ray Ban’s is they suit everyone, like everrrrryone! Men, women, teenagers, big faces, small faces… you name it, they look great on everyone! With Summer holiday’s just around the corner these Ray Ban Sunglasses are a great gift for a dad. Also dad’s love to drive in sunglasses, so he will be able to wear them all year round.
Socks
Christmas, birthdays, father’s days and Tuesdays, every special occasion for dads needs to include socks! These Paul Smith socks from Mainline Menswear are both comfortable and stylish. The polka dots look great poking out between socks and jeans, or with a suit. This gift set makes them look a little more ‘gift like’ too.
What will you be giving your dad for Father’s Day?
Completely sold on getting Papa some Floris London goodies, if they’re as delightful as the girls products then I know he’ll certainly not be disappointed! Quite intrigued by Crabtree & Evelyn! You’re completely right dads love a bit of pampering, and sweet gifts like this are so incredibly personal and thought through!
