Perfume: Annick Goutal ‘Eau de Charlotte’

annick goutal perfume eau de charlotte

I am a huge fan of Annick Goutal perfumes, they are all so beautifully blended with fruits florals and French sophistication. Whilst they are still considered a niche perfume in the UK, sold in the best perfume departments in London, Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Harrods etc. I have been told this is not the case in France, a friend of mine told me that every fabulous woman in Paris owns at least one Chanel bag and at least one bottle of Annick Goutal Perfume. It’s what the Parisian ladies love!

My current Annick Goutal favourite is Eau de Charlotte, it is inspired by her step-daughter, Charlotte. She wanted to create a scent full of childhood sweetness, which was sophisticated enough for the woman she would grow into. Think of childhood sparkling summers, fruits and flowers and blackcurrant jam, blended with the grace and romance of the woman she would become.

Top Notes: Blackcurrent buds

My thoughts

I love the fruity warmth of this perfume. It’s Summery, fresh and fun-loving. It side-steps the ‘sweet teen’ perfume and instead is beautifully bright, fruity and floral. Blackcurrants are such a beautiful summer fruit and this is such a beautiful Summer scent! It’s pretty yet fabulous!

Other Perfumes by Annick Goutal I love include L’ile au Thé, Rose Absolue and Ce Soir ou Jamais, for the men, my boyfriend loves Ambre Fétiche. Find more by Annick Goutal at Harrods, Liberty and Harvey Nichols.
